What's your favorite?
View Full Version : Cocktail or Beer ? Garin 12-12-2013, 06:38 PM What's your favorite? dmoor82 12-12-2013, 06:40 PM Both, if I had to choose it would be Crown and Coke. trousers 12-12-2013, 06:50 PM Really depends on the mood. While I have been on a bit of a scotch kick lately I do like the winter beers that are out right now. Oh GAWD the Smell! 12-12-2013, 06:52 PM Depends on the where why how etc. I prefer a good Irish amber with a burger, I like Chimay with steak...But I also enjoy good whiskey, and I'm a bit too much of a fan of Captain Morgan's lol. bradh 12-12-2013, 06:53 PM Usually a big fan of beer, but lately the drink of choice has been Four Roses Single Barrel. Amazing bourbon. mugofbeer 12-12-2013, 06:58 PM A good sippin bourbon or a vodka tonic in the summer..... tho a mugofbeer can be REALLY good. :) kevinpate 12-12-2013, 07:11 PM Three fingers of Crown in a clean glass, then leave me be. I know where to find you if I need you. - the quiet guy listening to the music catch22 12-12-2013, 07:13 PM I'm a Rum and Coke guy. But I also enjoy a good F5, Heineken, or Blvd Tank 7. bchris02 12-12-2013, 07:22 PM I'm a beer person, though lately have been more partial to wine since I am trying to go healthier. My favorite beers that you can get in Oklahoma are König Ludwig Weiss, Leffe, and Hoegaarden. If I have to drink 3.2, I usually go with Mustang Session 33. That one actually tastes pretty decent and doesn't have the watered down aftertaste of most 3.2 beer. Jersey Boss 12-12-2013, 07:31 PM As some of the others stated it depends on the food, the weather, the activity, etc. Crown and water for me or a Sam Adams. RadicalModerate 12-12-2013, 07:38 PM Hot summer day drinks: Gin and Tonic (with lots of lime), Long Island Ice Tea Winter drinks: Glenmorangie, Bushmills, Canadian Club (neat) Malt Beverages: Smithwick's, Newcastle, Summit Porter, Sam Adam Boston Lager, Dos Equis Amber Lawnmowing Beer: Old Milwaukee (now unavailable) so Milwaukee's Best ctchandler 12-12-2013, 07:52 PM I enjoy scotch but gave it up quite a few years ago because I couldn't handle it. I have spent about ten months in England and love the cask ale, the beer that is pumped into the glass and is about 55 degrees. I have some favorites but I enjoyed all of them. I believe I have had over 100 different beers since I make it a point to try local brews in England, Scotland, Wales, Cornwall, and Ireland (North and South). C. T. elitespy 12-12-2013, 07:53 PM Definitely a beer guy, just can't do liquor anymore. Give me a good wheat beer and I'll be good for the night. Prunepicker 12-12-2013, 07:59 PM I prefer Knob Creek neat. I've never been a fan of watering down perfection. Stew 12-12-2013, 08:00 PM Run and diet coke minus the rum. bradh 12-12-2013, 08:16 PM I'm not afraid to admit this, but Hanson's beer, MmmmHops, is actually good okcboomer 12-12-2013, 09:21 PM Anything with vodka. Mmmmmmmmmm Easy180 12-12-2013, 09:24 PM A solid Bloody Mary is hard to beat...Especially with lots of free crap to eat swimming around in it ljbab728 12-12-2013, 10:06 PM I don't dislike beer but rarely drink it since my younger years. I'm mainly a scotch drinker. GrayDSchrOFF 12-12-2013, 11:43 PM J&B straight and a Dixie Beer Mel 12-13-2013, 12:03 AM Ketel One at about 28 degrees. When I am out eating I'll will have a hand crafted beer. Prunepicker 12-13-2013, 12:25 AM Run and diet coke minus the rum. Run and coke? Sound too much like the 60's for me. Prunepicker 12-13-2013, 12:26 AM Ketel One at about 28 degrees. When I am out eating I'll will have a hand crafted beer. Oh good grief. I think I saw you at La Baguette sticking a thermometer in your drink! Mel 12-13-2013, 12:43 AM Not La Baguette, but guilty as charged. My wife's purse is handy to carry items for a better dining experience. Digital thermometers are handy as for exterior temps and they make miniature thermometers for fish, chicken and steak. poe 12-13-2013, 05:29 AM I've recently become a big fan of Hendrick's Gin for martinis and tonics. But on a cold night, nothing is better than sipping on a Manhattan made with a really good bourbon. As far as beer goes, I do like all of the Blue Moon varieties. bandnerd 12-13-2013, 06:14 AM Either. Depends on where I am and what I'm doing. Bill Robertson 12-13-2013, 09:23 AM Definitely beer. Haven't had a mixed drink in years. A shot of Fireball every now and then can be good. CaptDave 12-13-2013, 11:51 AM Why mix anything with good bourbon? Such a waste.... I don't like canned beer. Don't really have a single favorite. And rum... 151. educator1953 12-14-2013, 12:21 PM Long Island Iced Tea....my favorite! I also drink wine frequently.....because it's so good for my health!:D trousers 12-14-2013, 01:25 PM Had some excellent Belgian beers last night. Gulden Draak, highly recommend them. It doesn't take many as they are around 10%. cferguson 12-14-2013, 04:11 PM I'm not afraid to admit this, but Hanson's beer, MmmmHops, is actually good Just got this last night as a dirty santa gift. Thought it was funny but probably wouldn't be any good. Now I'm looking forward to drinking it! Never been a fan of liquor drinks. Always love to try new beer. Caldera IPA is my go to beer right now. OKCisOK4me 12-14-2013, 04:39 PM My beer is boring and generic. Mostly Bud Light or if I get tired of that I'll switch to Coors Light. If I'm feeling like getting my money's worth, it's Mustang Wheat and lately, I've been sipping the Cabernet. bradh 12-14-2013, 05:36 PM Just got this last night as a dirty santa gift. Thought it was funny but probably wouldn't be any good. Now I'm looking forward to drinking it! Never been a fan of liquor drinks. Always love to try new beer. Caldera IPA is my go to beer right now. Cool, let us know what you think of it. I actually think it's just the old Mustang Pawnee Pale Ale rebranded (which I don't think they put out anymore) Bill Robertson 12-14-2013, 05:56 PM My beer is boring and generic. Mostly Bud Light or if I get tired of that I'll switch to Coors Light. If I'm feeling like getting my money's worth, it's Mustang Wheat and lately, I've been sipping the Cabernet.Me too. I used drink nothing but Coors Light. Then I went through a phase of trying every beer I could. I would go out and have six and all would be different. I'm back to Coors Light. I do add limes though. I guess I'm a beer connoisseur wanna-be. CaptDave 12-14-2013, 05:58 PM Sam Adams - especially Winter Lager. Guinness also. Not wild about the lighter brews. Bill Robertson 12-14-2013, 05:59 PM Life's Simple (Guilty) Pleasures https://fbcdn-sphotos-g-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/1417812_621520911228511_1550452558_o.jpg "Dolce Far Niente" roughly translates "Sweetness in Nothing"I can see the beauty there. I'm a pipe smoker myself though. rezman 12-14-2013, 06:05 PM My beer is boring and generic. Mostly Bud Light or if I get tired of that I'll switch to Coors Light. If I'm feeling like getting my money's worth, it's Mustang Wheat and lately, I've been sipping the Cabernet. I have to say the same about beer.. But I like Bud Ice. trousers 12-15-2013, 07:51 AM Sam Adams - especially Winter Lager. Guinness also. Not wild about the lighter brews. I was actually a little disappointed with the Winter Lager, I like most of of the Sam Adams winter seasonals. Easy180 12-15-2013, 12:21 PM Either. Depends on where I am and what I'm doing. And now that I am over forty it depends on where I am going the next day lol Jeepnokc 12-15-2013, 07:07 PM Depends on mood and weather. On the beach...nothing beats an ice cold Carib (beer) but in cooler climates, a good scotch. After a nice dinner, maybe a Baileys on the rocks. I tried the new Balvenie Peat Cask last night....not worth the money. Not much of a peat taste and their double wood is much better at half the price. If you want a good peaty scotch...Lagavulin. Lately, been drinking a lot of Strongbow Cider as well as Peronis. Chadanth 12-15-2013, 07:22 PM I prefer Knob Creek neat. I've never been a fan of watering down perfection. Do you have whiskey stones? I'd recommend them if not. Kudos on the Knob. It's a great whiskey. Chadanth 12-15-2013, 07:22 PM Whiskey. Rye or scotch. TeriOKC 12-15-2013, 08:20 PM Manhattan, made with good bourbon and canned Bing cherries instead of maraschino....oh my!!! Wishbone 12-16-2013, 09:32 AM Sam Adams - especially Winter Lager. Guinness also. Not wild about the lighter brews. Exact same for me. I like Guinness in the winter and just about everything Sam Adams makes is pretty good. tsou89 12-19-2013, 07:25 PM I'm not afraid to admit this, but Hanson's beer, MmmmHops, is actually good I tried it too and it's not bad! I love IPA's and COOP F5 is my favorite. If I'm in a state with up to date liquor laws I also enjoy Lagunitas IPA. If I, Beered out I enjoy a Vodka Tonic in the summer or Crown and diet coke or Capt' Morgans and diet coke as well. |
