View Full Version : MAPS 20th Anniversary
bradh 12-06-2013, 06:34 PM At the celebration event, and as someone who has only lived here 5 years, I'm extremely grateful for the men and women before my wife and I as citizens of OKC who had the vision to get the wheels spinning on this greatness to make this city such a great place to live.
ljbab728 12-07-2013, 01:01 AM A very good new video:

Urban Pioneer 12-07-2013, 06:55 PM Great job on the special section Steve!
ljbab728 12-08-2013, 12:28 AM An interesting compilation by Steve about investments made during the MAPS era in one of his articles on Sunday.
Investments from MAPS | News OK (http://newsok.com/investments-from-maps/article/3910458)
He shows a total of $3.1 billion.

boscorama 12-08-2013, 09:26 PM I'm pretty sure I voted NO in 1993. Much as I loathe the expression, I now see I was on the "wrong side of history" in OKC.
RickOKC 12-08-2013, 11:21 PM Great job on the special section Steve!
I agree, Steve. You did a fantastic job. You're recording history and influencing the future all at the same time. Keep up the great work. In fact, I'm praying you have many more years to write about all that's coming. I can't wait to read about it.

Bellaboo 12-09-2013, 10:08 AM ^ you page through these projects and it is astonishing what all is happening....and Like Steve said, he didn't even get them all listed.
shawnw 12-09-2013, 10:26 AM I'm surprisingly excited about the memorial parking garage (if there's retail on the ground floor). With the amount of visitors the memorial gets, there's no reason it shouldn't be ringed with retail options, and the lack of this has always surprised me. Also surprised Blu's BBQ doesn't get as much traffic from the memorial (per the owner) as it's a great place, but maybe more retail to pull people over will help?

Thanks Rick, Urban Pioneer and others... and thanks for all your passion and enthusiasm for OKC.
soonerguru 12-10-2013, 04:10 PM Steve,
I picked up a copy and read all of it -- and renewed my subscription. Excellent job!
HangryHippo 12-10-2013, 04:51 PM I, too, renewed my subscription. Hopefully we get to read at some point this week about these Christmas gifts Steve alluded to.
kevinpate 12-10-2013, 10:43 PM Yes, nicely done Steve.
Oh yeah, please tell whomever came up with the idea for a way more than affordable W, F-Su, Holidays package, that also give fantastic, more than pays for the package, many times over, discount coupons to places like Qudoba, Pappajohn, etc., something for me. Genius ... pure genius.

Awesome post. I'm cracking up over the term "Oriental". Sounds like something my uncle would say.
HOT ROD 06-08-2015, 04:49 AM OMG, what a list.
We should update that list with the 2015 version then post them side by side. What a kick that would be.
