Oh GAWD the Smell! 01-08-2014, 10:20 AM Jeez man...Did you need to post THAT many pictures of one car lol?
Those are pretty badass...But I tend to concentrate on cars that I can actually afford though.
Like the C7 Z06 that's coming out. 620 horsepower...YEGADS!
I've driven the C6 Z06, and it's a monster. It's a track-eating-wild-man. I've driven the C7, and it's the best Corvette ever made. My head might explode with the badassery of the C7 Z06 should I have the opportunity to drive one.

Plutonic Panda 01-12-2014, 11:27 PM I am looking forward to seeing the new Huracan. Hopefully it will be a decent successor to the Gallardo.
The second week I worked at Uptown Grocery, I helped this elderly lady out and she placed her bags in her new Aventador. It was soooooo damn sexy.

I am intrigued by the Huracán as well. It has its work cut out for it being the heir to the Gallardo.

Plutonic Panda 01-13-2014, 02:21 PM Also, Kia just announced an awesome new car. The GT4 Stinger Concept! It is. RWD and has about 315 horse power. It is good to see Kia stepping up their game.
Will post more on it later, I am using my phone right now and don't have access to a computer.
Really hope they build this car though.

I'm convinced, based on similarities among LOTS of Ford, Kia, Mazda at one time and now Hyundai products, there's quite a bit of cooperation / theft / incest / nepotism going on there.
Oh GAWD the Smell! 01-13-2014, 03:41 PM It's based on a Hyundai Genesis coupe if I'm not mistaken.

Mazda used to be partly owned by Ford and at one time the same cars and suvs were made for both brands. For example, the Mazda Navajo and Ford Explorer were the same vehicle. Kia is also owned by Hyundai.
Last year, I bought a 2009 Genesis sedan, and I love it. Excellent size, price, and gas mileage. The only downside to the car is its rear-wheel drive, and it's only a problem in snow and ice. The images of the new Genesis I saw on Twitter today looked great; captions said it will have AWD option.

Plutonic Panda 01-13-2014, 09:47 PM Will be posting quite a bit soon including the new 2015 Genesis. Maybach is kind of making a comeback but not through a standalone brand, just as an optional model of the Mercedes S-Class. Never really cared for Maybach except for the Landaulet, that car was awesome!
Just the facts 01-14-2014, 07:54 AM Maybach isn't a car you drive, it is a car you get driven in. The worst seat in a Maybach is the drivers seat.

Oh GAWD the Smell! 01-15-2014, 10:59 AM The new Colorado and Canyon look REALLY nice too. And IT'S ABOUT TIME SOMEBODY PUT A SMALL DIESEL INTO A MIDSIZED PICKUP.
I'm so excited for that. I may go oil-burning-smaller-truck on my next truck purchase (4 years or so).
traxx 01-15-2014, 11:14 AM Ford has debuted an aluminum F-150. It's a 2015 model and will be available later this year. They said they shaved 700 pounds off of the truck by using aluminum. Aluminum is more expensive than steel and body shops are still new to working with it, but this could be a game changer.
Dubya61 01-15-2014, 11:36 AM Plupan. I saw a news article this morning on Yahoo! about a new muscle car at the Detroit Auto Show: The Equus Bass Check it out when you can!
Oh GAWD the Smell! 01-15-2014, 09:43 PM That's a 250 thousand dollar almost-Mustang with a GM engine, isn't it?
RadicalModerate 01-15-2014, 10:25 PM That's a 250 thousand dollar almost-Mustang with a GM engine, isn't it?
How many buses/trains/bicycles/sidewalks could be bought for that. (my, my, tsk, tsk =)
Oh GAWD the Smell! 01-16-2014, 09:49 AM Eh...I'm I car guy. That argument won't convince me. lol
Being an overpriced and ugly car? That'll make me steer clear of it.
It's just an LS9 and a LOT of stuff out of GM and Ford's parts bins. I mean...For 250 grand I want a bit more than headlights and HVAC knobs and headlights from a Camaro and a steering wheel from a Mustang (I wish I was making all this up).
You can buy a twin turbo Lamborghini with 1,000 horsepower for 225 grand, then spend the leftover 25k on an actual Mustang Fastback with a nice 351 in it...And call it a day.

Looks like a Dodge Ram.
Jeepnokc 01-17-2014, 07:33 PM Saw the new redesigned GMC Yukon at the home and garden show today. They said it would be available late February with the denali and XL available in March. The Tahoe and escalades were likely late March also. Good looking truck. My wife has already picked out the color she wants. They said the price went up about 3k over last year's model.

Just looked them up and if it's what the pics are I'm not impressed with the Yukon. Of course I don't really like the new Sierra's that's why I went ahead and bought the 2013. Now the Silverado's are growing on me, and if the pic of the Tahoe is basically the same thing as the Silverado, then I'm sold on it.
Garin 01-18-2014, 09:43 PM 2014 Z-28 sold at Barrett Jackson for 600k , 2014 Mustang sold for 300k. Both number one off the lines
Oh GAWD the Smell! 01-19-2014, 08:14 AM Oh man...I like this truck more and more every time I see a picture of it. The fact that I'll be able to buy one with a diesel (and maybe even a manual transmission to boot!) is like icing on the cake. Over 30 mpg in a mid-sized pickup with a nice interior and a WAY outside its class tow rating?
SIGN ME THE HELL UP. I'm tired of driving giant trucks for the couple of times a year I need to tow.
The Toyota Tacoma hasn't been redesigned in waaaay too long, and it only gets about 1-2 mpg better than the giant Tundra...I would hope they have something better coming down the road in the near future.
But it'll be tough for them...This is a good looking truck and people are loving it before it's even hit showroom floors. That's something GM needs.
http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i199/imawingnut/2015-GMC-Canyon-front-three-quarter_zps97c5ab68.jpg
Dubya61 01-21-2014, 12:19 PM I wonder if that'll prompt Ford to get back in to the mid-sized pick up market.

What's the towing capacity on that? Also that picture makes it look a lot bigger than it is. Still not big on the new GMC look, I think the Colorado looks better IMO. Not sure if it's getting the diesel as well, that would be a big selling point.
Oh GAWD the Smell! 01-21-2014, 06:52 PM Yeah, probably a smidge bigger than a Tacoma. Not small really. But as a current driver of a full size crew cab truck, it's comparatively tiny lol.
Diesel will be available in 2016 models...both Colorado and Canyon. Towing capacity is just shy of 7k for the gassers, diesel should be a bit higher.
Zuplar 01-22-2014, 10:11 AM I considered a Tacoma before I got my Sierra, but honestly the negative stigma of driving one plus that fact is was just a bit smaller than I thought it should be left me opting for the larger truck.

Zuplar 01-22-2014, 12:51 PM What is the negative stigma of driving a Tacoma?
This is big truck country. My best friend drives one, nice truck, but everytime we go somewhere he gets ripped for driving a baby truck. That's a tough perception to beat. I have a pontoon boat and it's not heavy by any means, 1800lbs, and not overly long, but I passed on the Tacoma because I thought it would look like a tiny little under powered truck pulling it. Honestly I still don't know if the Tacoma was heavy enough to keep the boat from swaying a bunch when it's windy.

Plutonic Panda 01-22-2014, 08:18 PM 2011 Land Rover DC100 Concept
. . . also the name Landy is being considered.

Not really much info about the truck that I've seen yet, but it looks alright. Kind of reminds me of the Bronco Concept and an FJ Cruiser combined.

Plutonic Panda 01-22-2014, 08:31 PM Volkswagen Beetle Dune Concept
Engine: 4 Cylinder/Turbo W/ 6-Speed manual (210HP)
Drivetrain: FWD
The Dune Concept sits two inches higher off the ground than the traditional Beetle, and it’s both longer and wider than the Beetle R-Line on which it’s based. However, it’s powered by the same 210-horsepower turbocharged four-cylinder engine and six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. It comes only as a front-wheel-drive model, with a multi-link rear suspension and the XDS electronic differential lock, intended for increased traction on less stable surfaces.
In keeping with the all-terrain theme, the Dune Concept wears a chrome-plated underbody skid plate, larger air intake, and the Dune logo. The skis are mounted to the car through a trick spoiler, which swivels to all storage within the actual wing. You’ll also find VW’s LED daytime running lights and xenon headlamps, as well as LED fog lamps gracing the face of the concept car. -See more here: VW Beetle Dune Concept: A Bug For The Desert Rat In You (http://www.thecarconnection.com/news/1089675_vw-reveals-beetle-dune-concept-a-buggy-intended-for-the-active-crowd)

Plutonic Panda 01-22-2014, 08:35 PM Here something pretty cool for anyone who is interested in classic cars. I love classics and this would be an awesome truck to own, however I wouldn't pay that price unless I had money to just blow.
Gene Simmons' ‘Snakebit’ 1956 Ford F100
Sells for $450,000!
The final hammer price was $450,000, with all proceeds set to go to the Children's Hospital of Saskatchewan. Some may scoff at the final sale prices of such vehicles, but when you consider where the money is going... well, you should reconsider your scoffing. A worthwhile charity gets many hundreds of thousands of dollars, and some wealthy gent or lady gets a classic truck that hides 550-horsepower 5.4-liter Shelby V-8 engine under its hood.

It's called the Ford RaptorTRAX, and it's set to star in an upcoming video set to be released over the 2014-2015 winter. Under the hood sits a supercharged 6.2-liter V-8 engine while the interior boasts four Recaro seats and a full roll cage. Outside, it's clear that Mattracks went ahead and helped out on this project.

Plutonic Panda 01-22-2014, 09:02 PM Honda S660 Concept
Engine: 3-cylinder, 660cc Gas Engine
Power: 64HP
Transmission: 7-Speed CVT(Continuously variable transmission) W/Paddle Shift
The engine is xpected to produce 64hp at 6000rpm and 77 lb-ft at 2600rpm, as it does in the N-One, a Japan-only offering. However, one source close to Honda says that the company may settle on -- for export markets including the United States, a turbocharged 1.0 liter unit which should produce upwards of 100hp. And in a minicar that tips the scales between 1875 pounds and 2000 pounds, such horsepower would give the S660 some serious attitude where it counts.

Garin 01-22-2014, 09:14 PM I've been driving tundra's since 2003. I've always wanted to buy a Tacoma ever since the tundras became so much bigger the only thing that holds me back is the price and the gas mileage is terrible for a small truck. I just purchased a 14 tundra TSS package and it is sweet best one so far.

RadicalModerate 01-22-2014, 09:45 PM Why can't they create a Volkswagon resembling a Batmobile, that is fuel efficient, with a cellphone interface, that turns it into a pile of recycled trash, by the side of the road, as soon as the driver chooses to telephone rather than operate a motor vehicle?
After all . . . some people say we put a man on the moon . . .
(oh. wait: I think They did a Fast and Furious test version of that out on the West Coast that didn't play so well. Disguised as a Porsche? too soon?)

Oh GAWD the Smell! 01-23-2014, 06:27 AM Yer killin' me Smalls.
Stop posting a crapton of giant pictures.
Oh GAWD the Smell! 01-23-2014, 06:32 AM I considered a Tacoma before I got my Sierra, but honestly the negative stigma of driving one plus that fact is was just a bit smaller than I thought it should be left me opting for the larger truck.
I wanted a Tacoma, I tried to make a Tacoma work. I worked the wife over for months trying to convince her that I didn't need yet another (I've had at least one full size GM truck in my driveway for more than 20 years) giant pickup.
But putting two giant car seats (one rear-facing) in there sold me on getting a Tundra instead. The biggest rear-facing child seat is till at least 6 inches away from the front seat; The front seat that's been adjusted for a 6' tall man to be comfortably seated.
So for now, giant crew cab it is. But my next truck...My kiddos should be out of the giant seats and in at least boosters. I can move to a smaller truck.
traxx 01-23-2014, 02:22 PM http://www.motorionline.com/wp-content/gallery/honda-s660-concept/honda-s660-concept_06.jpgSteering wheel's on the wrong side.
Somebody got fired over this. "Johnson! You had one job; make sure they put the steering wheel on the correct side. Well there's several hundred thousand dollars in the trash bin...again."
Oh GAWD the Smell! 01-23-2014, 02:24 PM I'm more concerned about the carbon fiber coccyx plate. That looks...Uncomfortable...
Just the facts 01-23-2014, 02:39 PM I have one question. Who is going to be able to afford all the cars? I was at the local dealership the other day and most cars are priced way above the average income in the US. Are we going to 10 year car loans?
