Wolfgang Puck Bistro, 3330 S. Peoria Ave., which opened amid much ballyhoo in the summer of 2010, closed Friday.
Derrick Brandenburg, a manager, confirmed the closing.
“That’s correct, last night was our last,” he said.
The dining room was packed during the early days of the restaurant, and wait times were up to an hour on busy nights. The first year was punctuated by more buzz with visits from celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck.
The restaurant was part of the Wolfgang Puck Dining Group, which oversees dozens of restaurants with different concepts across the country. Tony Henry, who also owns the Full Moon restaurants in Tulsa and Broken Arrow, was operating principal.
The restaurant was the fourth and so far the last of the Wolfgang Puck Bistro concept. The other three are in California.
Wolfgang Puck Bistro was known for its wood stone-oven pizzas, such as wild mushroom and lamb sausage, and Wolfgang classics, such as ale-battered fish and chips, bacon-wrapped meatloaf and Viennese beef goulash.
