One thing I like about Lake Hefner is that you get certain vistas and a vibe right in the middle of the city that is unique and completely out of line with the (frankly ridiculous) stereotypical dust bowl image.

For example, this photo here:

Show that to most people (elsewhere) and ask them to guess the location, and you'd probably get somewhere in Mass. or Rhode Island -- something like that. Nobody would say OKC.

It would be cool, however, if more development were to take place here. Has anyone ever proposed some mid-rise condos overlooking the lake?

Absolutely love Lake Hefner, the restaurants on East Wharf, the golf courses, and everything. I love living over here by it.
