I showed this to a friend of mine and they informed me that this isn't the first in the country. See: Will fully automated library kiosks get rid of libraries? (http://www.publiclibraries.com/blog/will-fully-automated-library-kiosks-get-rid-of-libraries/)

They still seem pretty rare, but unless there are differences between the two that I'm not seeing I don't think calling it the first is factually correct.

I just went to the new library and I have to say what a huge disappointment! Not only it is small but there is only like 50 books, I thought it is going to the same set up as Borders or something like that, the coffee shop looks cool however....
