Back in the day, the city saw the need to widen Hwy 152 from 2 lanes to 5 lanes. Traffic congestion during the construction period was pretty bad but would have been horrible had they improved the road after the huge influx of people in the late 80s & early 90s. Apparently they believe the residents are accustomed to gridlock and detours now since the Okc and Mustang road departments intend to wait on any road improvements.
