Sorry - I fixed the link. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Panang-Thai-Restaurant/179882932046277 Panang is opening Panang 2 at 14101 N May Ave Stew 10-14-2013, 12:36 PM Nice place. Saw some faces from the original panang. I wonder if the opening the new store and shifting staff is the reason the original panang is starting to suck. I will certainly go back to panang 2. flintysooner 10-14-2013, 01:47 PM I haven't been able recently to go to Panang too frequently but I did go about 10 days ago for lunch and I thought it was excellent. Service might have been a little slower but the place was packed including a couple of big tables. The lunch special was served a little differently but it is still my favorite thing. Mac wasn't there so probably at the north store. I wish them well. I clearly remember when they first opened and how good I thought the food was and how much enjoyed getting to know them over time. Really nice folks. corwin1968 11-05-2013, 02:25 PM So this is a newly owned and operate restaurant instead of just renaming the old one that was there? My wife and I have been curious and may have to try it now. corwin1968 11-11-2013, 10:20 AM Still haven't tried it yet but my wife wasn't too enthusiastic until her sister told her a lot of local Indonesian expats think it's really good. We'll probably try it in the next week or so. corwin1968 11-13-2013, 12:04 PM My wife and I finally tried Panang 2 last night. My wife said it wasn't bad...it's just too Americanized. Much like Lemongrass on 2nd & Santa Fe. Good food but she'd rather have Thai House on 23rd st. I thought Panang 2 was excellent and on par with Lemongrass. Very good, mild yellow curry. |
