Wanted to mentioned three relatively new restaurants in Edmond. I've had a chance to eat at all three several times over the last several months and definitely recommend them.

Gin Thai Fusion (owned by the same folks that own Sala Thai on 23rd in OKC) at the NE corner of Santa Fe and Danforth. I've had the Panang Currry, Massaman Curry and Pad Thai...all very good.

Panang 5 at the SW corner of 33rd and Blvd...same shopping center as the new Kamps. Been there for lunch and dinner and really enjoyed it both times. They have a rotating lunch special each day of the week for about $8.00, so the price is right for a good lunch

Jerusalem Mediterranean Restaurant at the SE corner of 15th and Broadway, next to ACE Hardware, is outstanding. It's become one our favorite restaurants in Edmond. Great food and a super friendly staff. Lentil soup, fattoush salad and appettizer sampler are all must haves when you visit.

One more that I believe just opened up last week.... I can't recall the name, want to say Brent's or something like that, but it's a cajun place went in right next to the Dunkin Donuts...... apologize for the lack of detailed info but I'm not in Edmond often and I was on my way to Humble Pie when I spotted it was open and the parking lot was packed.

Saw the Off the Hook guys put up a picture of food from this place. It's Brent's Cajun - Seafood and Oyster Bar on 3005 South Broadway.

Funny. I heard about this place today. Was told it was started by the guy that started The Shack

I have eaten at Jerusalem and the chicken shawarma is hella good. Get their Turkish coffee while you are at it. Small cup, but it doesn't disappoint on flavors.

Oh man. It was recommended by some friends that we try Zarate's Latin Mexican Grill on Broadway and I'm so glad we did. The food and service at this place is incredible. I love me some Peruvian food!

Dustin,
I have enjoyed their food for over ten years. I have seen a few critical remarks on this site about them so I'm glad you enjoyed it.

I think Zarate's used to be much better than the last two times I went. I don't know what happened but the food just isn't what it used to be!

I used to love when they had live music. It was always the same guy doing Michael Buble songs haha.

What!? Whataburger isn't on your rotation!?!?! lol. It's one of the first places I stop at when I'm back in OKC.

But yeah there is a fine selection of restaurants coming to Edmond. I hope you've heard about The new Ice House restaurant and there is a seafood bar called The Roost going right next to it as well.

Very pleased that Thai Delight is moving back closer to us, next to the Sam's Club. I saw their sign up in the new shopping center and the buildout seems to be going fast. This was a regular dinner spot for the wife and I when they were in Bryant Square. We go to their location on Broadway and 33rd, but not very often.

Our current regular rotation of Edmond eateries is; Way Back Burgers, Zarate's, Fuzzy's, Thai Delight, Covell Park, Fish City and Cool Greens. With Fish City probably being my current 'favorite.'

Papa Dino's is simply reopening their Edmond location. For years, they were located right across the street from the UCO campus on N University Dr, just south of Campbell St, next door to Textbook Brokers. Not sure when they shut down that location; Google Maps Street View seems to suggest sometime between this summer and last summer. This is a great move for Papa Dino's - they have good, cheap pizza and calazones but their old building on University was really run down and kinda nasty.

Tried it about a week ago. Had the hummus app and split a burger. Food was good. Beer selection was decent too. Not a place I would kill to get back to but better than average.

I also tried Mutts for the 1st time yesterday. Tried to give them plenty of time to settle in. BBQ bacon burger and FF. Iced tea. Had a $3 off coupon and still ran me over $8. Burger was good. FF very average. Again, gotta do more than that to make me want to pay $11 for a burger and FF. Not that I won't go back but just nothing special.

Anxious for the new Garage location to open.

Pepe's has permanently closed.

Yeah. It was rather sudden but not unexpected. Juan Pepe was a close friend for 30+ years. When he passed last year they were going to close then but after much urging Mrs. Gonzalez decided to give it a try. It never really recovered. Very sad as it was a family gathering spot for me. At least Casa de los milagros (his other place) is still open on classen. The buildong is now for sale and is a prime location on Broadway so will.be interested in what goes in.

House of Hunan at NW 178th & Santa Fe has closed due to losing their lease. I don't know the details but they are looking for a smaller location to lease, preferably one already set up as a restaurant. They are aware of the new strip malls popping up in that area but they are looking for space in an established retail location. I think they have a small core of regular dine-in customers, like me and my wife, and a lot of take-out customers, so they don't need a huge space.

Anyone have any suggestions? I don't know if they even know the best way to go about searching since they bought the restaurant as-is a few years ago.

I don't know if has been discussed but I'd like to give a shout out to the One Café. It's located just west of 15th and Boulevard on the south side of the road. They have great sandwiches and crepes, savory and sweet. I usually go with the real Honey Chicken sandwich. It's a bit tight in there so lunch time is pretty cramped but regardless go check it out. The owner and his family are really nice too.

I got the impression that the lease situation went south but hadn't heard about cleanliness issues. That's too bad because it's one of our favorite restaurants. I told my wife that I don't really expect them to re-open, given the circumstances of their closing, but one can always hope they will re-open and fix the cleanliness issues.

I'm worried about Cantina de los Milagros as well now. They have that big [what used to be] beautiful saltwater fish tank. They either need to clean it up or get rid of it. It is disgusting.

The wife and I wanted to try some place different for lunch the other day. So, a quick Yelp search suggested The One Cafe - 122 East 15th in Edmond.

Gotta say, I'm very glad we did. I've driven by this place many times, and honestly, the street view of the restaurant never really appealed to me.

The One Cafe is a very small locally owned establishment that (according to their website) "features poke bowls, unique sandwiches, grilled paninis, breakfast crepes, savory crepes, dessert crepes, and salads."

Though small, the place was very pleasant, clean, had the AC running and the couple behind the counter greeted us with a big genuine smile. Three or four tables were already taken by what looked to be elderly regulars and then a table of students from UCO.

They promote the crepes, but it was the poke sushi bowls that got my attention. I haven't had those since our last trip to a tiny cafe in NYC.

So, I ordered a poke bowl on lettuce with spicy tuna, salmon, wasabi, avocado, crab, cucumbers, onion, spicy mayo, ginger, masago, and sesame seeds.

The wife ordered bacon ranch chicken club sandwich. In the end we both shared. The poke bowl and sandwich were both really good. In all honesty, we could have easily just shared the poke bowl. Regardless, they were fresh, full of flavor and different than the average lunch in the area.

Next time we are definitely trying the crepes, as we saw several being made and they look delicious.

The total was $17 and some change.

Crepes (breakfast, I think) weren't that great when we tried them a few years ago (only restaurant crepes we've had were in Paris and from street carts in Paris, so a high standard to live up to :)), they just didn't have enough flavor to them, IIRC.

I may have missed it already posted here or on another thread, but I hear the Rocky Mountain Grill (formerly at 231 S. Coltrane) is getting ready to open at 3600 E. I-35.

That is just south of East 33rd on I-35, on the east side in a small shopping center that has sat mostly empty for years.

Bonchon at Santa Fe & Danforth is having a soft opening this week and six of us went in for dinner tonight. Everything was no charge, up to and including a large $32 order of wings, limited to one dish per person. I'm not a big fried chicken fan but my wife and a friend really enjoyed their wings and will definately be going back. I had the fried rice, which was pretty good. We had bulgogi and chicken katsu as well and while both were good, we've had better at other local restaurant. There were also two spicy Korean dishes at our table that I've never heard of but they got good reviews from those who tried them. The menu was quite small but they had a large number of appetizers and several really spicy dishes, which isn't surprising for Korean food.

Our waiter said they plan to open sometime next week but they haven't yet set a definite date.
