Anyone know what is going on with this piece of property? It was formerly the $1.75 cleaners and they demolished the building earlier this week.

That was a Kinney shoe store back in the day.

Strange, I can't even find a demo permit for that property, and certainly no building permit.


The property was for lease by the current owner for a while and has not recently sold.

Duh, just realized this is in Warr Acres which is why the permits are not showing up in the City system.

This might be a part of 7-11 development. I was under the impression that they bought up everything on that corner including the glass store.

I don't think it's part of the 7-11 property. There is a mechanic's shop to the North of it that is not owned by 7-11. There is also an easement road between the $1.75 cleaners and the mechanics shop for access to the building that is behind or West of the $1.75 cleaners.

The building has been vacant for quite a while. Hoping we get a nice new facility in the area.

I called the City of Warr Acres but the woman at the permits desk said they only go into the system when something is complete.

She recommended calling the mayor directly. So, for anyone who is really interested, give him a call. :)
