Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. That nice big open grassy area they used for the tents won't be permanent. But I'm sure they can figure out something in the years ahead.

That property is owned by Chris Johnson (House of Bedlam) and a hotel deal has long been rumored. Nothing solid yet.

Chris Johnson has talked about building a hotel there, but as of right now, there are no plans. I would bet once he gets done with HOB and the old Joker's space, we will see movement on the hotel.

It wouldn't surprise me to see them move it from that location to the southern part of the canal, specifically the area south of the old I-40 near the Land Run Memorial. There is a sea of parking around Bass Pro and the boats could start in that area and head to the other end of the canal.

This event has been scheduled for June 7 this year (which is a great change - they got a late jump on the event last year). The site/layout of the event will be much cooler too. Stay tuned.
