View Full Version : Downtown Area Breakfast Spots
rjstone208 08-30-2013, 07:05 AM Wife and I are doing a mini-staycation driving all the way from Norman to stay in the Skirvin for the weekend. We know and have hit most of the lunch and dinner places but seldom are downtown early in the morning. What are some breakfast places in downtown/midtown/B-town? Don't want IHOP and won't pay the over inflated prices for the Skirvin. We also know about the Packard's weekend brunch menu but haven't tried it. What else?
Debzkidz 08-30-2013, 07:30 AM Our favorite place for breakfast is Big Truck Tacos. It's by far my favorite thing at BTT. We make the drive from Edmond quite frequently just for breakfast. They are not open on Sundays though.
betts 08-30-2013, 07:30 AM Waffle Champion, of course. Brunch at Cafe do Brazil. Try Prairie Thunder Sat. Morning for pastries and coffee, Elemental or Coffee Slingers if you like coffee better than pastries. All but Coffee Slingers are in Midtown. It is on 10th and Broadway.
Martin 08-30-2013, 07:37 AM kamp's 1910 and kitchen 324 both make a decent breakfast. i haven't been to the downtown location, but old school bagel has pretty good selections, too. -M
betts 08-30-2013, 08:02 AM Sadly, I don't think Old School Bagel is open on the weekends downtown.
foodiefan 08-30-2013, 09:34 AM 2nd for Cafe do Brazil . . .also OKCMOA Museum Cafe has a very tasty brunch!!
BBatesokc 08-30-2013, 09:48 AM Favorite downtown breakfast spots are Kitchen 324, Waffle Champion, Big Truck, and not too far away... Cafe Kacao or even Jimmy's Egg.
kevinpate 08-30-2013, 12:28 PM There's Kitchen 324, and there's some other places I'd think about if I were in town and 324 was closed.
Got o 324 You will be glad. Oh, and this is important. Do not skip the bacon. Worth every penny.
catch22 08-30-2013, 12:40 PM Waffle Champion is a must.
Wishbone 08-31-2013, 09:07 AM Fuzzys tacos has great breakfast burritos.
WellRed 09-03-2013, 08:54 AM Stella in Midtown also has a great Sunday brunch until 2pm. Only open for dinner on Saturday. I recommend the lemon ricotta pancakes and the bruleed grapefruit. Their cheese plates are always good as well. I understand Pelaton also offers breakfast, but the menu is more simple, e.g. muffins, yogurt with granola, etc. Great place for lunch or a glass of wine, though.

are they open for breakfast hours on weekdays? i've thought about trying their breakfast but everything i've seen seems to indicate that they open at 10am. -M
BoulderSooner 09-03-2013, 02:26 PM 1492 is my go to weekend brunch location
DoctorTaco 09-22-2013, 07:56 AM Rode my bike through the CBD yesterday late-morning. Saw the usual sight: large groups of tourists peering into windows of restaurants (Sweets and Eats, Cafe 7, etc.) hoping to find one that is open so they can eat.
betts 09-22-2013, 09:27 AM Their hotels show be distributing thst information. Big fail on their part if they don't.
NWOKCGuy 09-22-2013, 01:40 PM I second the Stella nomination. IMO they have the best brunch menu in town.
BoulderSooner 09-23-2013, 09:46 AM skirvin brunch is also very good
Prunepicker 09-29-2013, 08:03 PM 1492 is my go to weekend brunch location
Is the cuisine from a menu or a buffet? What do they serve that you like?
Prunepicker 09-29-2013, 08:08 PM skirvin brunch is also very good
When you said Skirvin I had a flashback to the 60's and thought you
said Sieber. The Sieber Hotel had a wonderful breakfast and lunch
buffet. Of course the buffet was $1.59.
It was located on N.W. 12th and N. Hudson. You know, Caddy corner
from Johnnie's Topper Burger and directly north of Hand's Sinclair.

Is this restaurant related to Arthur Fuzzy who had a restaurant on
N. Classen?
Chadanth 09-29-2013, 09:50 PM Flint has outstanding food, but the service blows. 324 has great food and service. Sadly, I often find myself having to drive to Pearls for oysters and brunch.

No, I think it's a Texas-based chain.
