Has anyone thought about looking for corporate sponsers? Maybe we could get someone like Devon/Kerr-McGee on board to fund the site. In return, we could plaster their logo over the site? I know the company I'm working for is having a difficult time finding good recruits, maybe you could offer to write an article about the great work environment at company x? If you could get one corporate sponser on board, I'll bet you'd easily get that 1k goal!!

Hey that's a great idea!

I think once word gets out that things will kind of snowball. Until then it's going to take someone with connections.

I've spoken with the marketing directors for both KerrMcGee and Devon. Both have extremely small advertising budgets since they're not selling a retail product...thus, they didn't want to sponsor the site. When I approached them about charitable donations, they said they already have a waiting list.

Personally, I don't think we'd have a problem funding our site, if the users here would give $2 a month. I mean, come on, that's not asking for much. Obviously, I guess this site isn't that important to some people here. I hate to sound blunt, but I'm waiting for some of our users to prove to me otherwise.

Heck, I waste more than $2 a month. I can find $2 a month combing the parking lot at Penn Square Mall. If our users will step up to the plate we won't have to bother looking for advertisers and having our site cluttered with all of that garbage.

By the way, to those that have already given, I really appreciate you. You understand the importance of this site, and you understand that $2 isn't going to break your pocketbook.

I actually haven't checked with them yet, but I will.
