OU to ''Stripe the Stadium'' for the West Virginia game

For the Sept. 7 game against West Virginia, fans will once again be encouraged to “Stripe the Stadium” after Sooner fans pulled off the feat last season vs. Notre Dame. Fans who have tickets in even numbered seating sections should wear Crimson and fans in odd numbered seating sections should wear White. The general admission student section should all wear Crimson to this contest. Interested fans can purchase this season’s There’s Only One Oklahoma shirt and hat that come in both crimson and white at the OU Bookstore or online at shop.soonersports.com. In game, the football’s 2012 Big 12 championship will be celebrated. West Virginia’s band will also be visiting Norman for the contest

Hmm...while this has a nice effect, I think they should restrict it to very special home games. Not sure I count this WVa game as particularly special. It looked great vs ND, but it needs to be remarkable for special games IMO.

They should set out shirts in the student section to include them in the striped sections! Otherwise, its just a big blob of crimson since students don't have assigned seats and cannot plan to use their section number to choose their shirt for the game.

A good, loyal OU student will go to the game with both T-shirts and switch as he/she walks around the stadium.

Are they choosing this because the game is going to be televised? Do they know this far in advance of air plans?
