Neither one of those are "Walmart brand."

Walmart terminated its relationship with Murphy USA almost a decade ago.

Walmart operates their own branded, owned and operated gas stations now.

Were they not required to remove the Murphy USA branding from the stations? Because most still have them

No. All (1100ish) Murphy USA stations already at Walmart stayed part of Murphy.

You can use your W+ membership to get a discount at Murphy gas stations.

Makes sense, although I always assumed Walmart owned Murphy USA as I've never seen a Murphy branded station that wasn't at a Walmart.

Gas got down clear to $2.21 at the Murphy USA station in Stillwater several days ago. But as of Friday evening, it's up to $2.58.

Splitting hairs because you can't use Sams Gas without a Sams membefship (in Denver anyway) and they are still building Murphy's gas at new Wal Marts. Whether owned or not there is a clear relationship.

Murphy is a separate company, they are based out of El Dorado, AR. I don't think Wal-Mart is adding any new Murphy USA stores to it's property. I would assume there is some type of long term lease on the current Murphy Stores. There are Murphy USA stores that are not on Wal Mart Property. There is a stand alone Murphy in Del City at SE 15 and Sooner. Any newer Wal Marts, (the super center on SW 104th and I-44, SW 134th and May, SW 134 and Santa Fe are all Wal Mart branded gasoline.

They did in Denver. They don't have Wal Mart branded gas here at this time. Must be a regional thing.
