Unfortunately it has to fit multiple resolutions.

It's a great shot, but I detest it as a banner. The "welcome" message and other type in the upper right area gets lost against the background, as does the OKCTALK title itself. The welcome message, notifications, etc. really need a solid panel background to be legible at all, and the larger title needs white outlining of each letter so that it will stand out... Basically, the wonderful detail in Cooper's photos simply makes the banner look cluttered, without visual cues to force the photos to (visually) recede to the background.

I disagree. It's brilliant as a banner. Huge improvement.

I'd reccomend something like this, aka add 15px or so of 0-0-54 to the top:

Yup, much improved there. Now for a new theme for the board to match the new banner...because Pete doesn't have enough to do already. ;)

That helped it a lot! I'm still not enthusiastic about it, but it no longer seems confusing to me -- and it definitely does display the rebirth of OKC theme.

Speaking of banners, OKC has never had a banner up on SSC! Cooper Ross would be the best person to make one (hint hint wink wink) SSC is seen by hundreds of thousand of people from all over the World, and an awesome banner showing the OKC skyline would be cool!

The banner looks great! Pete continues to do great work here at OKCTalk. The banner is a huge improvement.

The banner looks best when you got your monitor adjusted so can sprawl across the page with no black space for margins. You can do that by pushing the ctrl button on the keyboard and at the same time tapping the + button.

That looks great.

Hate it, The old one in the daytime was better.

I much prefer this one.
