The yellow metal screening has huge block letters in the pattern that obviously spell something out. I didn't expect this; perhaps I wasn't paying attention..? I keep remembering too late to try and read them; I'm generally speeding past on my motorcycle and preparing to hit the traffic circle.

I'm really confused by this. How could you be speeding towards the traffic circle (to the west) when R&J is to the east of this?

It's going to be wildly popular and the facilities are so large, it will draw people to Midtown like nothing before.

Between this project and Bleu Garten, you have to huge restaurant/bar complexes anchoring down 10th Street in a way that should benefit the entire district.

And both places are the type where you go and hang out for extended periods, rather than just eating and leaving.

To be sure, McNellie's already anchors to the west. Nelson actually did himself a huge favor with this because I honestly think McNellie's was soon to become lost in all the new places, but with 10th+Walker quickly becoming a bar hopping area, I don't think that will be the case. Not sure what's going on with Kaiser's, but they should seriously consider adding a late night option because pretty soon, that place would be literally slammed every weekend until about 4 in the morning, especially with Edge, Lift, Francis Apts all coming down the pipe.

US Tuberculosis? I don't think that is a good idea.

This building is going to age horribly. It really does look like they used a highway underpass as design inspiration.

I mean, I love Fassler Hall in Tulsa, and I know this is a great concept that should be very successful, but damn that's an ugly building. I'm excited for it, but that thought is always going to be at the back of my mind whenever I see this thing.

I'm particularly fond of the 'freeway girder' design of the roof, the smooth glass façade, and brick elements. Nicely done.

I wasn't aware that the Tulsa location was that much smaller. I realize it wasn't a new build so I'm sure that restricted what they could do. They only have 8 bowling lanes, for instance. The picture of the scoring table for bowling shows an ash tray. I guess that is just for nostalgia?

I'm certain that was intentional, and I like it. Bowling, highways. Sorta go together in an inexplicable kind of way. Throw in some 70's country songs about Truckers into this milieu and the effect will be sublime.

The scale of this alone will set it apart.

Between this and Blue Garten, you have two pretty big bars/restaurants that will really help anchor 10th.

In that 2nd pick, with the tables & view of the bar, I wonder how that seating will work? It looks like a bench that stretches 10+ people deep. Not sure how people will sit down & be able to get up with people in their way.

I think the perspective might be throwing off. It looks like seating you would see in a beer garden in Germany, or at least the ones I've been too.

If they are staying with a true German beer hall... this is what they are in Munich. Notice the bench with the back has a bench on both sides. {people just get up and walk down the bench to get out) Prost!

Please no. Almost all bars in OKC that are full bars (not ABC-2 bar/restaurant) are smoking establishments. Hopefully this remains non-smoking.

These places are ABC-2 and could not have smoking without enclosed, separately-vented bar areas, which they do not have. It's impossible for them to be smoking-permitted establishments.

I apologize I must have misread your post above. When you said smoking will be allowed "outside and at Fassler Hall" I thought you were saying Fassler Hall would be a smoking establishment.

As for outdoor smoking it's better than indoor smoking because at least you can go out without totally stinking by nights end.
