In fairness to the OP, the wait staff at Royal Bavaria dress in more traditional German clothing; so asking that Fassler do the same isn't too far a stretch.

I think it's hokey. Will the male waitstaff wear lederhosen?

I don't think it's likely those outfits would be considered for the OKC Fassler. First, I tend to agree that such an outfit is both a bit hokey and objectifies women. Second, those outfits would be quite the departure from the vibe of the Tulsa Fassler Hall and pretty much all other McNellie's group concepts. I'm pretty sure they were just drawing from a German pub archetype to bring attention to the place.

Exactly.

They don't wear anything like that at the Tulsa Fassler Hall and hokey is not Elliott Nelson's style.

Also, remember that Fassler will share a kitchen and perhaps some staff with Dust Bowl Lanes.

...but the staff at Dust Bowl WILL be dressed as a Great Depression-era Okie. Including dirty clothes/ sense of impotent rage and desperation that comes from watching your children go hungry/ nasty body odor.

If I could still fit in the lederhosen my parents got me when I was a kid, I'd totally show up in it. Thank god I'm too big!

I do realize that this is not their theme.

I also realize that there are themed places of business out there that do exist with this concept.

I was just going along with the theory of it being cool if that's what the group did AND I realize they don't do that.

It was just fun like speculating on what's really going to be on the Stage Center pad.

FASSLER HALL & DUST BOWL OKC
It's coming, and we can hardly wait! But before we can open, we need a roster of awesome employees. Interested? Head to McNellie's OKC at 1100 Classen Drive, and fill out an application. Just note on your form which location you are applying for. We can't wait to meet you!

Please, please tell me interior design isn't going back to wood paneling and veined mirror tiles. That may be one of the ugliest periods in interior design of all time. I see this happening in other cities in a few places, but not as a trend. This is like having escargot as a main course...great as an appetizer but not meant to be the entree.

Unly indeed. But I can certainly appreciate going all-in with the 70's era theme. I'm really interested in how this turns out.

The combination of a relatively huge indoor/outdoor beer garden with live music and also a retro bowling lounge...

They are going to pack them in.

Soon, you'll have the uber-popular McNellies, Fassler/Dust Bowl, Bleu Garten, R&J, Broadway 10 and Sidecar all in a row. Midtown is on the verge of greatness.

BTW, I bet there was an objective to keep the roof line flat and low because Midtown Renaissance also owns the property directly north and I'm sure there was some thought given to preserving views of downtown, which will be great even from the second level (Fassler Hall); so you'll know they'll be good from that property to the north as well.

I have universally loved the work of Brian Fitzsimmons, both the renovations and the new. So, I really look forward to seeing all the final touches go in, because only then do you get the full picture.

I really look forward to seeing the Francis Apartments, another Fitzsimmons design that looks very cool in a completely different way.
