As rlewis had posted in the Red's Diner thread, that space at 840 W. Danforth (SE corner of Kelly & Danforth) is soon to open as Bricktown Brewery Edmond.
They are in the process of hiring and construction is wrapping up:

ChaseDweller 07-11-2013, 10:33 AM I know the owner. He's a great guy and the food is really improved over the last couple of years. I wish them well in expanding here and to Shawnee.
Debzkidz 07-12-2013, 10:20 PM Drove by a couple of days ago and noticed the "now hiring" sign. I'm excited to have another dining (and drinking) option so close to my house.
bluedogok 07-12-2013, 10:37 PM I guess this is in the old Pearl's Cajun Kitchen location?
OKCisOK4me 07-13-2013, 12:02 PM Is this the old Goldie's location?
BlackmoreRulz 07-13-2013, 12:31 PM It's where Red's Diner/Pablano Grill was.
Monterrey Jack's took over the Goldies location.
jerrywall 07-16-2013, 02:55 PM The best thing about this is that it may finally give edmond a place with a good selection of local brews.
Getting closer:

They had a soft opening for people in the corporate office tonight so they could have their walkthrough. I think they open for good next week.

I'm so pumped! That's two miles from my house, and one mile from my comic shop!
Can't wait.
bchris02 07-29-2013, 12:47 AM Is Bricktown Breweries beers 3.2 or can they sell the stronger stuff? I have tasted a few of their beers and they didn't taste watered down, but then again some 3.2 beer actually tastes good like Mustang Session '33. I have heard from multiple sources that any beer brewed by a bar/restaurant in Oklahoma had to be 3.2, no exceptions. Is that right?
boscorama 07-29-2013, 07:32 PM I saw their sign being hauled on the back of a truck on 2nd Street today.

That is true. You cannot brew beer that is stronger than 3.2 in Oklahoma.

To clarify, he was right in his statement. Brewpubs are limited to 3.2 (or 4% by volume) beer. However, straight breweries can do higher alcohol content.

Plutonic Panda 08-02-2013, 03:36 AM Bricktown Brewery seems weird in Edmond. They do have Texas Steakhouses here so it's not like Chicago's Pizza should only be in Chicago. But, a Bricktown Brewery in Edmond, come on man!!!!
I guess they will start expanding in other cities soon.

They've had an operation at Remington Park for awhile too.

The guys behind the concept are sharp folks. They are also aggressive and hungry, and don't be surprised if you stumble on a BTB in another state in a few years.

They've already opened up for business in Shawnee (Kickapoo and I-40).

jerrywall 08-02-2013, 01:04 PM Enduring Brands (the ownership group) has been doing good stuff. Very successful with Pablano, and I like the changes they've made with their other properties.

Texas Roadhouse is based in Indianapolis, Old Chicago and Boston Market are based in the Denver area....

I wish Boston Market would open in OKC. That is one chain restaurant I really miss. Does OKC even have anything comparable i.e. anywhere that serves baked or rotisserie chicken?
Plutonic Panda 08-06-2013, 01:02 PM Texas Roadhouse is based in Indianapolis, Old Chicago and Boston Market are based in the Denver area....interesting, for some reason Boston Market and CP doesn't surprise me as much Texas Roadhouse not being from Texas.

To be anal and clarify further, a brewpub in OK can sell whatever strength beer they want, however, they are limited to brewing 3.2abw to sell on-premise. I can't speak exactly as to why this is but I'm pretty sure it mainly has to do with the tiered distribution of alcohol in the state. Production breweries can brew whatever strength but they can't serve/sell beer or food. The new law passing allowing samples/tasting rooms for production breweries will help but good grief, limited to 12oz? Ridiculous.
pw405 08-06-2013, 04:27 PM Point in case, look at Coop Ale Works - they brew one of the strongest beers I've ever tasted, DNR, which is somewhere near 10%, but the brewery separate from the bar. Perhaps I've heard incorrectly, but isn't 51st speakeasy related to Coop? They are neighbors, after all.

I avoid going there because when they first started opening in Central Texas they started suing real Texas roadhouses who happened to use the name for trademark infringement even though many predated the start Indy based steak chain. To me it should have been considered a "generic term" at least in Texas and not a "name" that could be trademarked. I have eaten at one once in the past 12 years, don't plan on going back.
bille 08-06-2013, 10:05 PM Nope, no relation at all...well, other than they are just friends. The speakeasy being right next door is just convenient for them to send people to sample their beers. Plus they get access to the freshest beers, they can borrow dispensing equipment, etc. COOP essentially treats it as their tasting room (since that currently isn't legal) and that's about the extent of the relationship.
Ate there last night and was impressed.
Long bar that runs the length of the space, then one long row of elevated booths down the middle. Was busy and lively.
The menu has changed a lot... I had the CFS (jumping the gun in an attempt to satisfy a long-held craving) and it wasn't good. Huge but was too heavy, didn't care for the meat, breading or really even the gravy. Wrong thing to order clearly but liked the atmosphere. I bet they'll do well in a spot that has seen several restaurants bite the dust.

Tastes like beer diluted with water.

The Brewery has a few decent beers. I don't drink their stuff often, but they have happy hour everyday from 4-7 and all their beers are $2, so I've tried them all. I like the Old King Kolsh and the Remington Red. The 46 Star isn't bad. I think the One-Eyed Wheat is skunky. The Bricktown Brown is my default when I don't pick one of the others.
That being said, they have a great selection of beers on draft and bottled, including many from the other Oklahoma breweries such as Coop, Choc, Marshal, Mustang, and Prairie.
BlackmoreRulz 08-13-2013, 08:24 PM Parking lot hasn't been that crowded in years

Beer is 90% water; your description is lacking. Thanks for trying,

I agree with the quality of their beers. When I've tried them I've enjoyed them, they are much better than they used to be, but I feel most of them are still lacking. Brewing a variety of beers and being held to a 4% cap is a little trickier and requires one to think outside the box, something I'm not convinced they are doing. To me it seems that they picked some styles and dialed down recipes to fit in the ABV. Not to say there's anything wrong with that, you do have to adapt as best as possible in that situation, but I think picking some styles known for low ABV (such as Berliner Weiss) and tweaking processes to get the most from the malt they are using would be a better approach. They really should do a highly aromatic session pale or IPA, it's completely realistic.
At least they are carrying other craft beer, including locals, but it's a sad day when you are a brewpub and your top selling beers are beers other than your own. Just sayin,
