Yep.... I still haven't gotten used to the old Putt Putt that I spent many an hour at in Midwest City being a funeral home.

Wasn't the Heritage House building also a second Duff's location for awhile. I remember Duff's being the ultimate buffet because you didn't even have to walk to get your food. You stood in a stall and waited for it to rotate around to you.... That has to be the ultimate ode to gluttony!

I know it's going to be very weird for me next week when I'm in town and I see the old West Park Mall demolished at 63rd & MacArthur. I've never known OKC where that structure wasn't there and I have very strong associations with it from my youth.

I've seen photos of the demo, know the old place was in horrific shape, yet I know when I actually see it in person I will be very weirded out.



I go by there every day, Pete, and it still looks strange to me. The new Walmart building is well along now.

Perfect, now I have a new place to get gas when this is completed.

The property directly west of this OnCue and in the triangle formed by NW Expressway and 63rd was just bought by the Oklahoma Educators Credit Unit for $1.8 million.

Looks like Oncue - 7-11 are starting to do the CVS - Wagreens thing of building close together. Like NW Expressway, Oncue at Wilsher, 7-11 being built at MacArthur, Oncue almost open at 63rd. About a 3 mile stretch and 3 mega c-store/gas stations.

Had to run in and out. Has a drive through on the back. On the inside it has a beer cave, frozen yogurt, every bottled drink you can ever imagine, lots of food, clean, pumps have 100% gas as well as e10. Access is easy and location is perfect. Tulsa can't brag about QT. We've got them matched.

I've been to a new model On Cue... Good, but still inferior to QT 's new model. This isn't a Tulsa/OKC thing... It's just a better gas station in my opinion. Partly because QT generally has better employees because they have excellent benefits.

The wife and I were up on NW highway yesterday to meet with financial advisor. This certainly meets the "eye" test. It is very impressive. Did not stop to go in. But, I agree with you, those QT's up Tulsa way and east to St. Louis are hard to top.

The newest OnCue's are at least in the ballpark of QuickTrip and it now seems 7/11 is finally upping their game a bit in response.

So, OKC is in a lot better shape on the c-store front than it was just five years ago.


I know a lot of people will say "who cares about gas stations??" but it's a place we all use frequently, whether we like it or not. It's as an important part of the retail scene as anything else.

I'd take these Oncues and all our corner 7-11's all day over QT!

I agree. It's the same thing as with all the moaning about grocery stores. A lot of people are like "Who cares?" It is important though. Not having a quality grocery store nearby affects me a lot more than not having a Neiman Marcus that I would rarely buy anything from.

I prefer the spread out gas pump layout at 39th and Rockwell better than the front/rear layout.

Don't get me wrong, the new On Cue's are a huge improvement and the drive-in is an interesting component.

I care and I will never use the 7/11 at 63rd and Meridian or 63rd and Portland again because they built this. I HATE going into those stores.

I believe the ATM's at all OnCue's are free of service charges.

Yep, gotta agree. The OnCue's seem to be a huge improvement over the OKC 7-Eleven stores. I'll be interested to see how the "super" 7-Eleven concept works. I still wish we had the corporate 7-Eleven stores, but I also hear that the Brown family pays their workers very very well, quite a bit more than the "real" 7-Eleven stores. That counts for something. The OnCue's are so nice though, big step up.

For the longest time I never stopped at an On Cue because all I ever saw on their sign was E10 prices. I just assumed that is all they sold and I don't buy E10 unless I'm running on fumes and that is all I can find. And then I just buy enough to get me to a 100% gas place. Once I did stop and saw they had 100% gas in all 3 octanes, On Cue is the only place I buy my gas in the metro. A lot of 100% gas stations only have it in 87 octane and their 91 will be E10 and I have vehicles that use both. I've noticed most of the On Cues have quit selling E85.

I have no clue about mechanics, cars and ethanol. I've lived a long time now in the Dallas area, Connecticut and Denver. There is Ethanol all over and is in virtually all gas stations as far as I can tell. I come to OK and everyone rants about how bad ethanol is for cars. Cars in these other states seem to run just as well and don't have engine problems blamed on ethanol. Aside from the issues of using our food supply to run cars, what is it that ethanol is supposed to do to a car that is bad? I've just seen no evidence of it where ethanol is heavily used.

Stopped in this afternoon. The store is set up practically identical to the one on Memorial and Western. As for the E-85, the Memorial store posted signs about nationwide shortages forcing them to stop offering it. We have a minivan that can take E-85 and whenever it was cheaper (not that often but it did happen), we'd use it instead of the E-10. Couldn't tell a difference in how the van would run.

They will even run at a richer A/F ratio when they detect E10 in the tank. So even if the cost per gallon is less, you will use more of it to go the same distance. Ethanol has less energy content in it than gasoline. It's more of that science stuff.

I also get fairly better mileage; it isn't a huge difference, but any little bit helps.

I also have been to multiple gas stations in Dallas where they have 100% gas. I've had no problems finding it in Dallas.

I am all for having options and glad to have OnCues that can provide for us all.

Many of the cars made over the last 5-7 years were designed to use the ethanol additive therefore most people will only see a slight difference. The truck we just purchased at work can run on E10-E85 and regular gasoline. My truck is a 2005 and I notice a major difference in consumption even when I just top off with ethanol blended fuel. When it costs $75-$80 to fill up you want every drop to take you as far as possible. I drive at moderate speeds and I don't do the jack rabbit starts. I drive interstate as much as possible, use my cruise control and try to avoid streets with lots of traffic lights. I have a family to support and most weeks another $30-$50 in the tank to get me to payday is not an option. As I said before to each their own for many drivers ethanol is not a huge concern then again there are still many who don't have the luxury of a permanent car payment in their budget. When I finance cars, I pay them off and drive them for awhile. This go round plan on going back to car payments. The vehicle I have is still in good running order and probably will be for at least another 50,000 miles.

Y'know, I've seen a lot of folks on OKCtalk complain about the Browns and how much better the "real" 7-11 stores are to the OKC franchises, and frankly, I don't see any appreciable difference. I was in a "real" 7-11 in Orlando a few weeks ago, and it was certainly nothing to brag about.

Out here in Cali, there is a big mix when it comes to 7/11.

Many look just like the crappy ones in OKC but then again there are quite a few newer models that are more like OnCue, just not quite as big.

I found it odd they recently changed out all their pumps for newer models and this station isn't very old. My only guess is the ones they pulled are spares for another station? If you go to this station; you will notice how different the display screens are on the pumps. This station also has another oddity. On the south end near the restrooms at the end of the hallway; that vault looking metal door with three locks on it. Which is strange considering the windows on that corner of the building. Turns out the restroom cleaning supplies are in there. My only guess is to that style of door has something to do with that not being a fire exit and not having to be labeled(as not being) due to the choice of door?
