View Full Version : Firehouse Townhome
ethansisson 05-04-2016, 05:16 AM just a question, does this reside on the corner or is there significant lot between it and the corner?
There's an aerial photo of the lot in the gallery. It's right about in the middle of the block and there are existing buildings between it and both corners, so it's not even possible for them to have built this to the corner.

I "HOPE" that it is built to the corner so we have a complete block of development and not this happening later 'hey you can't build next to me to the corner because I have my windows/views, blah blah'. Why not preempt this and just build to the corner - then you'd always have your windows.
Midblock, but part of the lot on the side is vacant and they're putting a small yard there. I think there is also a major easemente right around there that will help protect that elevation.
Anonymous. 05-04-2016, 04:11 PM So no one knows the list price of this?
Teo9969 05-04-2016, 04:15 PM So no one knows the list price of this?
Have we determined that it is in fact for sale?
I plan on sneaking in and squatting there for 20 years until it's mine.

I like how narrow the garage and driveway are. Doesn't take as much away from the building as it could.
Martin 05-26-2016, 08:37 AM that's really nice overall... but to me it looks like they went kind of cheap on the front door and garage door. -M

Agreed. Other than that, the place looks great!
OkieBerto 09-11-2016, 08:04 PM Finish and listed for 1.2 million.

It's a nice enough house...but the listing is way over the top:
"Rare Architectural Gym in the Deep Deuce District"
It's 4,000 SF, so right at $300 / SF which is on the low side for new construction.
Great views but interior finishes are straight out of Edmond.
Richard at Remax 09-12-2016, 11:15 AM Def a swing and a miss with finishes. The white trim should have been all throughout the house (mostly around the windows. The cabinets in the the kitchen should have been more modern and went up to the ceiling. I wish they would have played on the Firehouse theme a little more.
But I agree, $300 sqft for brand new construction in the middle of deep deuce is almost a steal.
As a contrast, this is the house at 615 NW 7th in SoSA... I was in it on Friday and it's absolutely stunning.

Yeah, I think it's just personal preference, though. Not every house interior in downtown has to look ultra modern. I'm sure there are plenty of rowhouses in older cities that don't look like that and look more like the first. Now, I'm all for criticising the exterior design. I just think interior design is totally subjective.

Wow! If I ever get tired of 100 year-old houses, I could totally see myself in one of these.
Anonymous. 09-12-2016, 11:51 AM I looked at that SOSA house too. It is awesome, although I would have put the kitchen and living space upstairs. Basically reverse the floors.
Teo9969 09-12-2016, 11:59 AM I assume those are just windows on the 2nd floor? It would have been pretty awesome if you could open up the entire common area to the outdoors for beautiful spring/fall days
Anonymous. 09-13-2016, 08:19 AM The same person who owns the Firehouse lot also owns several of the other lots that are all in a row here in DD. They have put another lot up for sale on the north side of 3rd street. $180K
Richard at Remax 11-04-2016, 09:41 AM Getting close to being on the market 60 days now according to the MLS
Anonymous. 07-25-2017, 09:11 AM Firehouse Townhome was recently pulled from the market. Perhaps it has finally sold.
Richard at Remax 07-25-2017, 09:32 AM The listing expired July 9. I'm sure they are regrouping and will list it again soon. Was on the market for 303 days.
It's great space in a great location but the finishes are all suburban and I think that is what is causing it to go unsold.
Richard at Remax 07-25-2017, 09:53 AM Exactly. Could have gone the extra mile and incorporated the firehouse theme on the inside. Plus add that with the uncertainty of the open lot next door. I'm sure it will sell but not for near that price.
shawnw 07-25-2017, 10:15 AM Uncertainty, it's an easement I thought? Can't do anything with it? Or am I remember wrong about where that easement is?
This property recently sold to a local couple for $1,112,000; had originally listed for $1.2 million.
Anonymous. 09-19-2017, 08:49 AM EDIT: nevermind, wrong property
Richard at Remax 09-19-2017, 10:17 AM Hmmmmmm interesting. On the market for 303 days with no bites. Then it goes Pending on the first day back on the market with another company.

and really interesting *if* the new listing agent got both sides of that sale.
Richard at Remax 09-19-2017, 10:50 AM They didn't. I'm not saying it smells it's just interesting to me.
