View Full Version : OnCue (SE 44 / S. Shields Blvd.
BBatesokc 04-18-2013, 11:00 AM I mentioned this awhile back, but can't find the thread.
A temporary fence just went up around the old pharmacy, pawn shop, etc. on the SW corner of SE 44 and S. Shields Blvd. Looks like the wrecking ball is soon to follow (okay, probably just a large bulldozer). An OnCue is slated to go on this corner. Not sure when the completion date is. This corner needs an upgraded C-store.
Rumor was that 7-11 was trying to buy land either to the West or South of their current location to expand into their larger format store to compete, but last I heard it wasn't going well.
Plutonic Panda 04-18-2013, 11:15 AM I'm sorry but was Oncue the gas station that everyone here was wanting as opposed to 7/11 or that was Quick Trip? I couldn't remember. :P

QuikTrip would be the best... but they aren't in the OKC market. OnCue is a good copy of the QuikTrip model so it's most definitely what we want as opposed to 7-11.
Clear now? lol
flintysooner 04-18-2013, 11:25 AM I realize I am in the minority but I really do not like the OnCue architecture.

Its nothing eye-catching, but I love the completely sheltered parking and gas pumps. They also tend to keep their store clean and well staffed and are good are keeping the transients away.
The new larger 7-11's however are really a vast improvement.
Servicetech571 04-21-2013, 02:32 PM 32oz drinks under $1, No ethanol gas, Plenty of clean restrooms. You won't find that combination anywhere else.

Agreed! I guess I'll still go across the street to rent movies at 7-11, but get my gas, refills and snacks at OnCue after its built. Recently I've been going to Circle K's and really like them too.
Servicetech571 04-22-2013, 06:14 AM Circle K seems to always have "1 man" bathrooms which always seem to be occupied when your kids needs to go the worst...

kevinpate 07-05-2014, 02:13 PM Nice addition for that neighborhood. That reminds me. Been awhile since I hit the Choice Cafe down the street a few blocks. Need to do that soon.

My thoughts as well. Even though I'm sure they are putting it there for good reason it is nice to see such nice stores (one on 59th & Western as well) going in places that surely appreciate them coming in.
Plutonic Panda 10-10-2014, 01:35 PM Looks like it is open(sorry for the bad shot, had people behind me)

BBatesokc 10-10-2014, 05:20 PM If so, it happened right before or as you were taking the pic. I was at the 7-11 across the street at 1pm and the On Cue was still blocked off from SE 44th and they were still stocking the shelves.
Been anxious for this location to open.
Plutonic Panda 10-10-2014, 06:23 PM Oh, so perhaps they weren't open. I didn't confirm whether or not they were.
Brett 10-12-2014, 06:41 AM I just filled up at another On Cue and am kicking myself. Oh well, I will still drop by and grab a 32oz. drink. I recommend the lemonade that is hidden by the tea at the fountain drink bar.
Mississippi Blues 10-12-2014, 01:01 PM I just drove past it and it's still not open yet.
BBatesokc 10-13-2014, 12:54 PM Yeah, I was told they are shooting for opening this week - Friday possibly. I heard there was an issue with the electrical inspection. No idea if that is true.
BBatesokc 10-20-2014, 12:01 PM It's now open for business. They have a dedicated entrance on the east side that leads straight to the restrooms without entering the main part of the store - curious to see how long this lasts, as I was already seeing the local homeless coming and going through that door.
