Chick Fil A planned for the SW corner of Memorial and Rockwell; just east of the Farmer's building.

Any idea when this will be built?

The Chick Fil A planned for the SW corner of Memorial and Rockwell has not even filed for their building permit as of yet, and once they do, there is usually 2-3 months before it is approved and work can start.

Yes, I know it will kill it there and the free market reigns supreme but I’ll just say it again, what a poor land use decision for that piece of property.

They could and should have built mixed use multi story here with Chick-fil-A at the bottom. OKC developers aim the bar low far too often and yes I know there’s exceptions.

I’m not sure how well Oklahoma City could support such similar developments so close together but something akin to the OAK development might fit here. It’s easy to imagine neat developments when it’s all in your head and the numbers don’t matter, so to attempt to stay rooted in reality I just take solace in the prospect that if this area could support higher use than a few mid chain restaurants, eventually that will take shape. That’s my (naïve) hope anyways.

So was NW Expressway. Must be a design update of the older stores regardless of condition.

If it's the same renovation plan as NW Expressway it's going to take longer than 3 months. It's been that long or longer already and it doesn't look close to being done.

240 had recently already had some renovations. I swear it had already closed briefly in recent years. 240 did already have the covered two lane ordering area where as nw expressway did not so maybe 240 doesn’t have as much updating needed?

There's a roll off dumpster in the parking lot of the West 1-40 store that wasn't there yesterday. I wonder if they're doing city-wide store updates.

A great place for Chik Fil A would be next to Tacos Don Nacho on Council, across from Hobby Lobby. There's plenty of room for it, and they would make a killing there with thousands of people working along Council from I-40 to SW 59th Street, along with thousands in the nearby neighborhoods.

They need to eliminate the entrance/exit onto NW 50th from Classen southbound. Traffic can still exit onto Classen southbound from NW 51st and Expressway westbound from NW 50th. The entry/exit doesn't add any value and will be a huge headache once there's something people actually want to visit in large numbers on NW 50th.

Bad photo but you can see they are almost finished. The double drive-thru (out of frame to the right) is covered.

Wouldn't surprise me if this location was the busiest in the city. Given its central location, near tons of businesses, it will make a killing.

Yes they got bumped from the original date. They actually were open briefly last night. The line was out on rockwell to the north side of the tollway, it was bad. Hope this isn’t how the line will always be.17883. I assume it was a brief training/trial run.

This location will be managed by the same franchisee as the rockwell and expressway location.

If you can not clear the intersection do not enter it . OCPD needs to have a permanent presence controlling the traffic in the area now like they do when Paycom lets out for the day.

OKC building permits show a new Chick-fil-A restaurant is going in on the NW corner of SW 104 and May Avenue. The $2.5 million project will have an outdoor seating patio and drive thru area, but appears to be different from the design of others in the area.
