Okay, I'm going to try to narrow things down a little based on our top choices. What would you like Shpherd Mall's new name to be? I will be submitting a letter to the new owners of Shepherd Mall requesting a name change.

Just Shepherd Center. Office center has no class.

I'll put up another poll after this one is complete to vote between the final two choices in each category. For example, if Shepherd Center/Shepherd Office Center wins, the final poll will be between those two.

Again, I voted Shepherd Center. Shepherd Office/Business Park puts me in the mind of multiple, singular buildings spread out over a much larger area.

Don't want to influence the voting here, but Shepherd Business Park actually won the last poll! :) I didn't vote for it, but I suppose several other people here like it. I won't argue with them. I'll submit a name change for whichever name wins here, whether I agree or not.

why does it have to have the name shepherd in it?!?! i think of lambs everytime i hear that name...

The Shepherd name is historically based. The Shepherd Family owned the land where the mall now sits. They donated it to the Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma, originally to build Baptist Hospital. When zoning was not approved for the hospital, Ben Wileman owned some property on NW Expressway and Grand Blvd. and offered it to the BGCO in exchange for the land where Shpeherd Mall now sits. Wileman ended up developing Sheperd Mall at NW 23rd and Villa and the BGCO ended up developing Baptist Hopistal at NW Expressway and Grand. The mall was named Shepherd to honor the family for their contribution.

The name Business Park or office park makes me think of a trailor park.

Shepherd Plaza sounds the best!
