Does anyone know how far out on HWY 9 Cox internet service runs? I'm shopping around for a bit of land out that way, but fast internet in the form of U-verse or Cox is a must. Google is all over the place with availability. Seems to suggest that certain neighborhoods out to about 60th are partially serviced, but I can't find anything definite. If anyone lives out that way and can vouch for the service availability I'd appreciate you chiming in with your experience.

The big Internet providers are awful about publishing service areas, and my loathing for them started in 2007 when they terminated access to the data on broadband reports. Lots of fun househunting and being unable to find out if there's Internet.

Fortunately the State Broadband Initiative has taken up a lot of the slack and the state of Oklahoma has good service maps here (http://broadbandmapping.ok.gov/OKindex.html).

I live in Noble, just about a block south of Post Oak Road... Up until now the highest internet speeds available were through Suddenlink (only cable provider available) or AT&T DSL and only went up to 3 Mbps... But, just this week I checked with AT&T again and it appears that I now have up to 6 Mbps U-Verse internet availability. I received my self-install kit last night and will be setting it up this evening, so if all goes well, I'll have something that resembles decent internet service.

I say that to suggest that possibly it would also be available out east on Hwy. 9 as well. Something to think about.
