Hi. New to this sight. Does anyone remember a pie restaurant in the 70's on 39th street between Ann Arbor and Meridian? (I am not referring to Pioneer Pies.) I am trying to remember the name. Also, anyone here remember "The Black Brick"?

I believe it was Billie Lee Pies, right behind Fred Gang's. They were owned by Sirloin Stockade.

I found this ad from 1972...

But the address (4620 NW 39th) is the same as Fred Gang's.

I believe it was the tenant in that building before Fred Gang's opened.

William L. Keele, 84, born Billie Lee, went to his heavenly home on January 20, 2009. Born May 30, 1924 in Jet, Oklahoma, he was the youngest son of Jess and Hattie Keele. He was a man of many talents and accomplishments. He was recognized by those who knew and loved him as a wonderful friend, mentor and a loving and generous husband, father, grandfather and uncle. William grew up and graduated from high school in Red Rock, OK. He received a degree in Animal Husbandry from Oklahoma State University where he was a member of Farm House Fraternity. He married the love of his life, Thelma Bettinger, on October 3, 1947. He served in WWII and became an accomplished entrepreneur. In 1966, he founded Sirloin Stockade Restaurants. He also established Billie Lee Pies and Fred Gangs Restaurants.

Yes, the Black Brick has been mentioned here several times. I wasn't a regular there but certainly went.
