View Full Version : Age Demographics of OKC Talk
Teo9969 01-16-2013, 12:50 AM Pete, I know that this is the wrong forum, but I would like it to be seen by as many people as possible.
I'm interested to know the age demographic of the forum and am posting a private poll to find the results.
OKCisOK4me 01-16-2013, 01:28 AM I know you could probably have only so many choices (hence the 10 year spans) but I'd like to say, I'll be 35 in March :-)
Plutonic Panda 01-16-2013, 01:35 AM I'm 19

(That Old Einsteinian Theory about The Relativity o' Life in the Fast Lane and That Old Country Song (Ferlin Husky-ian? Theory) about the speed of life's boundaries and leaving beautiful memories and whatnot done run right on past me . . . =)
Dang: I just realized that I'm my own Grandpa about the time I first encountered him when I could even understand what he was saying!
I do remember one quote:
"Johnny" . . . he said . . . "Don't ever get in no hurry."
Rephrased:
" . . . uh . . . my pager is going off . . . can i hit you back later . . . sorry . . . OMG!!!"
RadicalModerate 01-16-2013, 03:40 PM Where are all the people in their 40s?!
Probably out there doing something constructive with their time . . . like buying guns for a false sense of security rather than taking surveys.
Architect2010 01-16-2013, 04:55 PM Currently 20. Been reading this site since I was 14!
Plutonic Panda 01-16-2013, 04:56 PM Probably out there doing something constructive with their time . . . like buying guns for a false sense of security rather than taking surveys.Yeah that's what everyone is doing. I just don't see it. Sorry.

OKCisOK4me 01-16-2013, 05:55 PM Finally, some more "old" people like myself!
Plutonic Panda 01-16-2013, 06:36 PM I was joking with you. :P
I'm 52 and in the best shape of my life.
OKCisOK4me 01-16-2013, 06:52 PM Yeah, Pete, I hope I can do triathlons when I'm your age. I bet you have all of 2% fat on you!
PennyQuilts 01-16-2013, 06:56 PM 54 - and I still feel like I am in my late twenties, early thirties in many ways. When I WAS thirty, I thought fifty sounded really old. Turns out, it really isn't a big deal. I don't like to party all that much and I don't have wanderlust but, mentally, that's the age I feel. I keep thinking I'll start feeling old at some point - maybe in my sixties?
rcjunkie 01-16-2013, 07:34 PM 53 and healthier then i've ever been.
boscorama 01-16-2013, 07:40 PM 62. Yikes!

I keep thinking I'll start feeling old at some point - maybe in my sixties?I'm 53, wife is 49. We both feel exactly the same way. I'm not sure I'll ever feel mentally old. Oh, I forget things a bit more than I used to but that's really all mentally. Now physically, my body lets me know often that I can't do what I did when I was twenty.
ewoodard70 01-17-2013, 10:24 AM 42 for couple of more months.
Wambo36 01-17-2013, 10:39 AM 52 and feel like I did when I was 32. Was told when my last child was born (when I was 39) that chasing after him would keep me young. I didn't believe it at the time, but apparently there's something to it.
Strange that we have so many more in the 30-40 and 50-60 range than 40-50.
But it also shows the wide distribution of ages here, which is really cool.
mmonroe 01-17-2013, 11:39 AM 25... 26 in a few months... and I will have been here with the forum for 5 years in march.

There are probably just as many 40-50 here ... perhaps all their bandwidth is going to their teens and they haven't seen the poll yet.

My great grandpa is 82 and alive and well. In perfect health, just has those joint problems.

I am guessing is is a mix of internet usage tends to be highest in the 20 - 35 range and the bottom of the population valley between baby boomers and their children is around 40 years ago

Or...the folks in their forties don't want to say they are over forty. When we hit fifty we just give in and admit it.

As a young woman, I admired the beautiful women with smooth, dewy skin; long, thick hair and big eyes. Long legs and an hourglass figure was a huge plus.
I've reached the point where hard and lean, no matter the shape is looking like a harder (better) goal to reach and am just giving up on the dewy skin. Fortunately, the long thick hair and at least half of the hourglass figure remains. :) When did I quit yearning for thin thighs and start wanting some muscle to hold together the knee joint?
Lauri101 01-19-2013, 11:16 AM 57 here - 58 in March and eligible right now for full retirement after 35 yrs government service.
Being in the KMA club makes late 50's a great place to be!
FFLady 01-21-2013, 10:51 AM 51 & proud here!! :)
