My wife surprised me with a birthday breakfast from 324 a few days ago - cronuts, cinnamon rolls, and coffee - all absolutely delicious and hit the spot! Made up for being on call on my birthday :) As close as we live, we really should go more often. New Year's Resolution!

This place is just so great.

I went with family to brunch on Sunday and the place was completely slammed with a 45-minute wait at 10:30. We took the opportunity to walk around the CBD a bit and had a table within about 30 minutes or so. The whole time there were lots of people waiting but they were also moving lots through.

Not being much of an egg eater (I like them okay but prefer other things) I had their meatloaf with potatoes and it was fantastic. Described as "House Crafted Turkey Meatloaf with smoked tomato gravy and loaded baked potato cake". Both the meatloaf and potatoes were about the best I've ever had.

A Good Egg does such a fantastic job -- a real asset to OKC.

Funny I had that same thing yesterday. But for dinner.

That meatloaf is the business.

I'll give the meatloaf a try the next time I'm there. I was suggested the chicken pot pie the first time.

Went there for the first time tonight, as we only live about 12 blocks away now and are expanding our downtown eating horizons.

It was fabulous. Ditto what Pete, Urbanized and others said about it feeling so "other-city-ish". We sat along 3rd and where we could see Robinson as well. We got to enjoy the people walking by, cars and then a beautiful winter sunset. The service was fantastic and the food to die for. At the end, when we got the tab, it was way less than what I expected. So all in all a great value and the ambience to boot! Can't wait to go there for brunch. Luckily, our server, Brandon, recommended that we make reservations if we come on the weekend!

I ate here a couple of weeks ago and forgot to write a review.

I had the turkey meatloaf with the tomato gravy. It was seriously one of the best meals I have had in OKC. Everything was perfect about it. It felt like I was eating in NYC.

Yes, love that meatloaf, the potatoes they serve with it and pretty much everything about Kitchen.

It's one of my go-to places when people visit from out of town.

Apparently someone at the Gazette isn't a big fan.... Personally, I totally disagree. The fried chicken pot pie is one of my favorite menu items!

Kitchen No. 324 rates high in Oklahoma City for brunch, but is it a case of popular aesthetic over food? (http://okgazette.com/2017/11/30/kitchen-no-324-rates-high-in-oklahoma-city-for-brunch-but-is-it-is-a-case-of-popular-aesthetic-over-food)

Better or worse than paseo? I've been told to visit paseo for their cpp

I'm just surprised that the Gazette published a bad review of anything. All these years with Greg Elwell and you'd think no bad meal had ever been served in the state of Oklahoma.

Same way with Dave Cathey of the Oklahoman.

They are angling for advertising dollars, not trying to be objective.

Me, bad take. Kitchen does a great job and that chicken pot pie is ON POINT.

You can't really compare them. Very different takes on chicken pot pie.... I think both are delicious!

Word of warning... especially for Paseo Grill... Get there early. They sell out of them fast!

Kamps 1910 also does a good version that sells out very fast. You can call ahead and have them hold one for you though. I think they call theirs hobo pie.

Another note on the chicken pot pie at Kitchen: the fatal flaw in that interview was an insistence on sticking to a traditional, super-literal definition of “chicken pot pie.” When you go in for that dish, understand that it is a chef-driven, inventive, pot pie INSPIRED dish. In fact, I personally go one further and think of it as fried chicken with a pot pie inspired side. As such, it qualifies as some of the best - if not THE BEST - fried chicken in town, shoved into a delicious bowl of hot baked comfort goodness.

The Gazette's new food writer (Jacob Threadgill) is actually a food critic, way more knowledgeable and interesting than the Jean-Teasdale-like Elwell. He actually appears to cook his own meals, has lots of culinary and cultural knowledge and it makes its way into the reviews (no more "Gee, that there chicken fried steak sure hits my belly the right way with the bestest gravy I've ever had"). Doesn't seem like the Gazette is adhering to its "only good things will be said about restaurants in our reviews" policy any longer, which is good.

I do agree with him a bit on the pot pie - when we went the first time, it was great, the 2nd time it just wasn't as spiced and flavorful and not as good, but that happens a lot at a lot of places. Having said that, a pot pie should have a bottom crust, the more crust the better. :)

Now, now.... You're just being a pie snob now. ;)

Absolutely, and no puff pastry for a pot pie crust either. :p

Didn't realize they had moved to breakfast/lunch-only service, decided to go there on Sat around 11:30 - 60-90 minute wait without a reservation. Making reservations for breakfast on the weekend seems silly but I guess it's the reason we never eat before 12:30 or so on Sat or Sun. Hatch had a 2-hour wait (seriously, is there *any* food in OKC that's worth a 2-hour wait?), and Harvey Bakery had a line with about 150 people in it. Insane...

It wasn't that long ago that OKC had almost zero good brunch options.

Amazing to think about.

It really is amazing. You have over hours long waits at Hatch, Aurora, Kitchen 324, Sunnyside Diner, Cafe Kacao, Jones Assembly, and probably several others. The brunch market is booming here.

And to The Travellers's question--of all of those, I believe Cafe Kacao is worth a 2 hour wait. I love that place. If you don't get on their wait list early in the morning on the weekends, then you are going to wait at least 3 hours.

That's how it is in most big cities. Went to LA in September, and though there were more places, still had over a 2 hour wait, til we gave up.

Denver and Dallas are the same way. Almost have to make a Reservation nowadays. I agree, seems weird for breakfast reservations. But I think some of it is people being tired of staying inside, and getting out any chance they can.

Eh, we've eaten at Kacao a bunch of times, they're good, worth maybe 30-45 minutes, but not 2 hours. Wife prefers Antigua, though. To each their own...

It is pretty amazing.

We also pretty much have to get a reservation for dinner on Wed-Sat at most any restaurant we go to. Perhaps less surprising than brunch, but is still pretty wild compared to the OKC of old. We went to the Thunder game last Wednesday - tried to book a Jimmy B's reservation on Monday for 5:15 on Wednesday and they were already completely booked inside. Pretty wild!

Agree wholeheartedly with this assessment. Kacao is very good but the fawning adoration it receives is just bonkers.

My new brunch favorite is Unwind Cafe. What an absolute gem that place and its owners are.

Agreed re: Kacao. Go to Cafe Antigua down the street and save your time. You won't be disappointed. I believe the owners are married?
