Has anyone tried Pho Kim Long? More important, has anyone noticed the irony of this restaurant's name? My wife and I always enjoy a chuckle when we see their truck driving around the Asian District.

I can't resist advice about soup, from a guy named "Stew". :) RadicalModerate 01-03-2013, 08:56 PM Eh, have a Vietnamese friend pronounce pho cuong sometime. Miss Muffet decides to try out a spider-free dining location (not counting those deals for dragging stuff out of the wok without all the grease) and wanders into a Noodle joint. She orders something off the menu and after a couple of tentative taste tests calls the waiter/owner over. "These are the most watery curds I've ever had!" she opines, with a hint of sarcasm. "Kurds?" replies the server . . . "No, Pho King Whey!") mmm started it . . . it was mmm . . . bluedogok 01-05-2013, 10:35 PM There is a pho/yogurt restaurant not too far from our house in Aurora called Pho-Yo. RadicalModerate 01-06-2013, 03:33 PM If they added some French flair (like Belgian Fries) to the menu, perhaps Faux Pho-Yo? And then some authentic BBQ, donuts and a souvenier toy in the Kids Meal: Faux Pho-Yo Yo-Yo Fo Y'All? (now, THAT would be REAL conFusion Cuisine!) Hate to be a nit-picker, but the thread is about Pho Kim Long. =) (and no, i haven't eaten there either . . . ironically both places are owned by a guy named Sam Ting!) It's a little known fact that Sam Ting wasn't given that name at birth but was actually named Sam Custino and changed it when he got into the Oriental Noodle game. kevinpate 01-15-2013, 10:17 AM Hate to be a nit-picker, but the thread is about Pho Kim Long. =) (and no, i haven't eaten there either . . . ironically both places are owned by a guy named Sam Ting!) RM, you now owe me one laptop screen cleaning. Can't read this one anymore now ... it is covered with soda. RadicalModerate 01-15-2013, 10:30 AM RM, you now owe me one laptop screen cleaning. Can't read this one anymore now ... it is covered with soda. really? . . . then i guess i'll see you in court . . . boullion. =) (not "you" literally, amigo, because that would border on sort of a cannibal version of pho, but you get the drift.) I hear that Pho is getting really popular over in The Promised Land . . . One enterprising self-promoter is really pushing his business with the slogan: "Go Pho Yusef" . . . Most of their business is of the take-out variety (a bag of dried noodles, some broth and whatever) for you to make at home. When you order at the counter you have to deal with The Soup Rabbi. (For some reason, almost nobody ever orders the "calimari" option.) |
