By "Lunch" I don't mean [any chainlocalorotherwise].
Royal Bavaria doesn't "do" Lunch.
Is there any restaurant in the Moore area . . . nearly the "quality" of RB . . . that actually provides a good lunch for a special occasion?

That sounds like a very good suggestion! Thank you.

I'll second Dan McGuinness. They always have a daily lunch special and unlike most Irish pub concepts they actually have good food and you can order a good steak if you want to kick it up a notch. I'm addicted to their club sandwich unless I'm there for lunch when the special is meatloaf. I'd like to add Harry Bears as another option with a good amount of options and a very clean and comfortable atmosphere. AAdvantage Dining - Harry Bears All American Grill - Reviews, Hours, Menu, Map - Moore, Oklahoma 73160 (http://aa.rewardsnetwork.com/details.htm?search=true&merchantId=115468)

Also, I haven't been lucky enough to try the food but the this place is in a good location as far as convenience and atmosphere. I've heard a lot of good things about their food from reliable sources. Hummus Mediterranean Café http://www.urbanspoon.com/r/46/1684467/restaurant/Oklahoma-City/Hummus-Moore

If you like Indian. Himilaya's is one of the best restaurants in Moore right now. They are a buffet but you can also order from the menu

Not technically in Moore but The Stuffed Olive Cafe on S. Penn (just S of 119th) is delicious. The owner used to be a part of Two Olives Cafe in the Old School on Broadway, but went her own way. The Stuffed Olive is larger than Two Olives and I've found that while the menu is very similar, the food at The Stuffed Olive is FAR superior (as is the service). - Stuffed Olive Cafe (http://www.stuffedolivecafe.com)

If you go to their Facebook page, they post their daily lunch specials which are a little more upscale than the regular menu items.

Stuffed Olive is a good choice. Almost forgot about them. There is also Go Go Sushi and the Pho place next door. Anyone know anything about Lemongrass in Moore?

Except that neither Stuffed Olive nor Lemongrass are in Moore.

Harry Bears? The same as existed in the 80's near 23/Meridian in OKC? I went just a few times and was bummed to "find it gone". If I ever have to be in Moore I'll be on the lookout ...

I enjoy any/all Van's locations (s 4th in Moore) though it's a local chain (4 units, three cities)

@ boscorama I'm not sure who owns/runs the Harry Bears in Moore now, the previous owner passed away a few years ago. I do know they're not owned by the same group as the old one up on 23rd & Meridian. I think HB in Moore started out way back when as part of the OKC group but was bought by the guy that was running it when the OKC HB's started closing down. They've still got the fried peaches though which is my only reason for going there.

The Van's in Moore is TINY inside, don't recommend it at all. Does anyone know if Hollies Flat Iron serves lunch?

MsDarkstar,
Yes, Hollies now serves lunch. I haven't eaten lunch but met a friend for a beer and they were advertising that they were now serving lunch. That was over a month ago.

Harry Bear's is ran by Jane Mitchell and a partner. I believe she has been with Harry Bears from the beginning. They've changed it to a fast casual as far as ordering and then it's full service. I've been to other locations in the past but this one is a much nicer restaurant with much better cleanliness and consistency than any of the other ones I used to go to. They have quite a few new menu items than what I remembered from the old locations. Cleanliness and overall atmosphere at the Moore location is much better than the extinct ones.

Since you seem to be on top of taking the pulse of the local restaurant scene . . . Do either of The Feuding Custino's have any new plans for opening other locations outside of the current battleground--that is, far, far away from Moore? =)

Isn't "Harry Bears" pretty much a remake of TGIF/Chili's/Applebees/etc?

Again: Thanks for The Dan McGuinness tip! (at about post #3)

Lol...Kind of whiffed on knowing where Moore city limits ends and unfortunately the Custinos too. Harry Bears could is very similar to the restaurants you listed but they are locally owned and operated.

Love your name BTW.

Didn't realize Jane had a partner but yes, she has been there since the 'beginning'. Jane was the long-time general manager of the Moore location when the Val Gene group started selling off locations (they were responsible for Texanna Red's, Shortie Smalls, etc.) and she purchased the store then. Years later they made a move to the City of Moore shopping center, this is when her brother started working there as a manager (he's the guy that passed away a few years back).

The cleanliness was much better after their initial move from the original location on 12th into the City of Moore shopping center. I heard at one time the older building on 12th was a big part of why they moved although I've yet to ask Jane or Mitch if that was true. IMO I don't really care for the 'fast casual'. We've been there once since the change and felt that the prices were higher, portions were smaller, and now with the hybrid self/full-service the experience not as fun or nice as in the past. I like to support local and I have a lot of history with HB (my first job actually) but I can't say when the next occasion will arise where I'm in the mood for their new pseudo service.

Van's is supposed to be building a new location at 19th and Broadway (right next to the water tower across from Showplace Market). However I drive by there daily and I have yet to see any signs of them starting.
