I spotted this mysterious looking cargo about 11AM today, headed east on I-44 by the fairgrounds. Judging from what appear to be the vertical stabilizers, it looks to me like an F-22 Raptor. Anyone else have a guess as to what me hiding under that tarp? And where this thing might be headed?

It wouldn't be the new F-35 would it?

Ooh, good call Panda! That could be the F-35! How cool!

Although, as you can see in this pic, the F-35 is a single engine fighter. 2948
This appears to have two engines, like the F-22 raptor. 2949
Though the engine openings on the Raptor are square, and the openings on this jet (if it is a jet) look round, like an F-18 Hornet.

Any pilots or military folks on here with an opinion either way?

that looks like it is twin turbined like the F22... the F35 has a single turbine (like the f16) if i recall correctly

EDIT: I'm thinking it is probably an F-18...

It might also be the scalp of a giant Bunny Sculpture...

Yeah and another thing now that I think about it, I don't think they transport and F-35 put together like that for security issues I would think they would assemble the majority of it in a factory. But, I'm not an expert so I wouldn't know too much about it.

F/A-18 - look closely at the engine area. The exhaust nozzles protrude farther rearward than on the F-22.

There is a chance the exhaust nozzles have covers on under the tarp but the tails look like a different shape than an F-22.

Just the facts

It is dual keel racing sailboat and it is being transported upside down. Or not.

Don't know what kind of jet it is, but it is one. I see them every once in a while on I-40. I remember one day when my crew was taking frac pumps into okc we went around the scales on 40 near El Reno. we went through town and there was a truck, obviously over weight, and on the back was what you see in the pics. At a light I was able to see under the tarp.

It was an F/A-18.

It's either the F/A-18 OnlyOne mentions or it could be a 1959 Cadillac.

I always thought it was a redneck air fin for the truck. Just pimpin' up his ride!

Hmmm it's either an F/A 18 or something VERY classified. Would love to have seen that tarp fly off though.
