View Full Version : Fall Back one hour today (Sunday)
Don't forget to set your clocks back one hour today (Sunday Nov. 4th).
How many clocks and watches do you have to reset?? I bet I have at least a dozen.

For me, just one -- the alarm clock by my bed. I kind of simplified things a few years ago and now the only real clock I have in the house is an atomic clock in the living room, basically this:

Which adjusts automatically. And that's about it. All the computers auto-adjust. The cell phone auto-adjusts.
Well... maybe one more -- the digital clock in my car. But I'll probably go days before I remember to do that one.

Arizona has it right. I wish the whole country would drop it. I don't think it serves any useful purpose anymore.
Praedura 11-04-2012, 11:36 AM You'd think that with the extra hour of sleep I'd be full of energy today. But, no such luck. I'm feeling about as energetic as these guys:

Since my recent trip to OKC, my body has been on Central Time.
Now, I'm up *really* early... Today it was 4AM.

Getting up very early (4 or 5 am) is supposedly quite healthful. I'm just waiting for some study to show that staying UP until 4 or 5 am is healthful. Then I'll be set!
I can tell you that I am massively productive when I get up early in the AM.
In undergrad, I always got up late then tried to study late at night. I'd always get sidetracked or too tired and this never worked out very well. Was a decent but not great student.
For graduate school, I moved to California so I was already up two hours earlier than normal. I started studying early when there was nothing else going and it worked a million times better. I was top of my class the whole way through.
I always think: What the heck am I going to be doing after 10PM? Watching TV, eating, goofing on the computer... But if I trade those late hours for early ones, I'm a buzz saw.

What the...? Ok, either this just now got fixed, or I was hallucinating. Because now, the post times are correct.

Wait until you see what happens with your ballot tomorrow, hehe hehehe hehe hehehe
Praedura 11-02-2013, 12:40 PM Here's the obligatory 'don't-forget-to-set-your-clocks-back-one-hour' message.
Tonight, or rather early tomorrow morning.
That's assuming you have to. Most devices auto-adjust these days.
Praedura 11-03-2013, 11:12 AM Ok, so I got my extra hour of sleep. With no discernable effect.
Energy, where art thou?
Time for another cup, I guess.

kevinpate 11-03-2013, 11:18 AM .oO(why is it the clocks that are most difficult to reach are the ones that do not reset on their own)Oo.
kevinpate 11-03-2013, 11:28 AM We just stay in bed for an extra long time. Every once and a while we all need to just stay in bed and so the kids and I just use this day as an excuse to make a morning of it. Lots of blankets, and lots of story telling.
Lucky man. Cherish such days. They are grown and gone way too fast (though there is a bit to be said for having some quiet times as well.)

Pete, you forgot to reset the one on this website. LOL
I'm seeing at least one post that says 10:30PM and it's now 9:55PM here.
And sure enough after I posted this look at the time it says its was posted.:)

If it was correct earlier, it isn't now.
