Are you all referring to the old city airport or the new one at the edge of the city?
I think the new one is far from the city so many flights still prefer the old airport. As outdated and crowded it is.

It was probably what you call the old airport. I remember it seemed like a zoo in there.

Word of warning to those parking at the garages in OKC.
You have to pay extra attention as you approach the garage now. There are individual lanes for at least 3 different options that were not there before. And you dont really have a good way to change your mind until it's too late.
There is now a premium garage in the old rental care space just across from the terminal (no tunnel, just walk across the street). That's $25 per day.
The traditional garage option is still there, but the little construction they did before, put up some concrete barriers between the two garage types now and the sign above the road isn't super great until you're already in that lane at the ticket machine.
The barrier to the hourly garage top area is also more pronounced now.
I was surprised and ended up in premium while driving in the same lane i've always used to get to the regular garage (bypass the first entrance, to get to the one closer to the terminal). I ended up deciding to just stay put and see how it was. Honestly, it was actually pretty nice not having to go through the whole tunnel that has broken moving sidewalks half the time i'm down there. Was it worth the price? Meh. But that's a whole section of cars not taking up room in the other garages, so if all those Land Rovers, BMW's, and Lexus' want to park there......go for it.

Just to be add to this, you’re never really stuck (unless you’re in a hurry). If you get a ticket and immediately leave, you won’t be charged at the ticket booth.
