You all wouldn't believe how miserable the weather has been here in Cleveland: yesterday we all left the Browns stadium at halftime..any less horrific weather and there would have been a post-game parade through the city to celebrate a W. Sigh...as an expat you miss the little things, like pleasant weather. And Red Prime

Just got home and I've gotta say that this afternoon's-evening's meeting was one of the most pleasurable confabs that I've attended ... saw lots of old faces, met lots of new ones ... in stimulating conversation all the while. Thanks, Pete, for doing this. It was great.

It was great to meet many active OKCTalk posters tonight. I hope you will be in town more often Pete. I like your ideas about the future of the site and other information sharing avenues.

Looks like you had a great time!! I was planning to come but got distracted watching the Hurricane/superstorm hit NYC - my kids are all there and I was playing fretting mama/grandma. (Two lost power but were doing fine before that. The third one is fine.)

Thank you. If mom fretting would make the difference, they'll be fine. I think they are pretty safe (two in the West Village and one in Brooklyn) but it won't be fun for them next few days, especially since one of my daughters and my daughter-in-law are both pregnant. Hope the power gets back, soon. Taking the dog out for a walk up and down 12 flights won't be a picnic. The images of all the flooding is mindblowing.

My kid, too. She went uptown from her East 29th street spot, by cab, to her friend's apt where they were having a hurricane party. She reported the cabs were getting around doing their job.

Great turnout and so much fun! Wonderful to meet so many of our posters and get to know them better.

I wish I had more time but I think I got to meet everyone there.

Look forward to doing it again next time I'm in town, probably in the next few months.

Hey, I made it into a couple of Matt photos at the meetup. Hopefully, that means I'll
live as long as some of the historical buildings he photographs. I had a great time.

If you guys plan on doing this again, maybe a Sunday? That's my one full day off a week. Thanks!

BTW, by my count we had at least 30 people there, which is fantastic, especially given the relatively short notice.

We will definitely do these again and I'd like to combine them with a property tour, a guest speaker or two or at least some special guests. It was cool that Ed Shadid not only showed, but was very engaged and may have been the last person to leave.
