View Full Version : Big 12 Midseason Observations
onthestrip 11-20-2012, 09:53 AM That OSU team was already struggling as Zac Robinson had fallen apart. I don't see that happening again, but I'd love to see it.
Exactly. Robinson couldnt even zip a pass 5 yards that game due to injury. It was over before it even started. Slap me in the face and call me Nancy if OU shuts out OSU. I see a very close game, probably decided by a TD or less.
Just the facts 11-20-2012, 10:13 AM Man, Landry can't win. This fresh off one of the best QB games in OU history where he basically willed the team to victory.
Jones is pretty good quarterback but he has really played on some below average OU football teams over the last few years. He might hold the school record for most wins but it took him 9 more games to do it. Here is a tough question. What starting OU quarterback has more career loses than Jones?
OKCisOK4me 11-20-2012, 06:11 PM Remember 3 years ago that the Sooners were unranked and Oklahoma State was ranked #11 and Oklahoma State came to Norman and got shut out by the Sooners 27-0? It could happen again
The weather is practically the same but no, that's not going to happen again. Also, we had one more win than OU at the time so how was OU not ranked? Not to mention that its 21 coming into 12's house. Also, I think that was the last year that Gundy was the offensive coordinator along with his coaching duties. Thinking back...Monken's second year, season before that we had Holgerson for one year. Unless I'm forgetting someone... Should be a fun game to watch.
My prediction, oSu 36 ou 44

The way the QB carousel was going in the Blake era it might be hard for just one QB to amass that many losses. If any one played at QB for any significant amount of time it would have been easy to have the most.

Jones is probably in the top fifth of college QBs, but he doesn't compare to Bradford, White, or Heupel. Expectations are high at OU (as they should be). Here's how I'd rank Stoops era QBs (gaps indicate, well, a significant gap in play):
1. Bradford
2. Heupel
3. White (title game play are the difference for me)
4. Jones
5. Hybl
6. Thompson
7. Bomar

Not a bad list but my list would be
1. White
2. Heupel
3. Bradford
4. Jones
5. Hybl
6. Thompson
7. Bomar
Just the facts 11-24-2012, 07:38 PM I'll bet by the time Jones retires from the NFL he will have more NFL touchdown passes than all other former OU AND OSU quarterbacks combined.

Not if Bradford ever gets a decent line to protect him.

Jones won't go as high as Bradford so he will never play on a team as crappy as the Rams.

True but the Rams have chance to improve. They got 3 first round picks from the Redskins. They need to draft O line and receivers.
