221 N. Central Ave. (http://goo.gl/maps/s3cDK)
The address of this store puts it right next to Le Cep, formally known as Sage, and the official street address will be 221 N. Central Avenue. Deep Deuce Wine will specialize in hundreds of the best labels as well as top shelf liquor. This is the only information I have for now and will post an open date as soon as I receive that information. I'll also get a pic up of the inside.

I assume this will be immediately west of the Le Cep space on NE 2nd?

OKCisOK4me 10-17-2012, 02:32 PM Yes, Pete. Le Cap is 228 and the wine store is 221 ;-) so it'd be where that white park bench is on the NW corner of the building.
Spartan 10-17-2012, 02:34 PM Guess Broadway Wine Merchants has some competition now
So, I'm confused....
Is the wine store going in south or west of Le Cep?
OKCisOK4me 10-17-2012, 02:49 PM So how is the address 221 NE 2nd St? Wouldn't that put it just west of 228? And nevermind, lol...I read his text wrong. It is 221 N. Central Avenue. Sorry for the confusion Pete!
onthestrip 10-17-2012, 03:29 PM So a liquor store and not a wine bar? Thats a shame. This city is seriously lacking a good wine bar.
In reality, this city is lacking nice drinking establishments period. Wine bars being an example.
Rover 11-23-2012, 11:56 AM Great to know. Can't wait to get by there.
Urban Pioneer 11-23-2012, 12:21 PM My studio was where Le Cep is (228 NE 2nd). The wine bar is a Central street adress. The apartments above have a universal address and box numbers 1-8. So now there are technically three addresses for one building of that makes sense. Where the kitchen section is in Le Cep used to be a third address as well for J3 Architecture. They tore down the wall between my former unit and theirs to make the space for Sage, now LeCep.
Urban Pioneer 11-23-2012, 12:33 PM Geez....
OKCisOK4me 11-23-2012, 01:03 PM Just went by to purchase Thanksgiving Meal beverages. Great little shop. Will is really knowledgeable and they 110% committed to being a neighborhood friendly business. Already planning events!
Go by and check them out!
Yep, I've known Will for quite some time. Pretty sure we were even in the same elementary classes. He's definitely a good guy. Midtowner might remember him too. We all went to the same elementary school.
soonerguru 11-23-2012, 01:52 PM Sid,
WTF with Le Cep going by another name? I was really pumped about the French bistro / wine bar concept. Are they moving in a different direction? Hopefully not another freaking sushi bar.
soonerguru 11-23-2012, 02:00 PM So weird because they said they were going to be opening "next Friday" about two months ago. Ridiculous and clueless.
DeepdeuceWine 10-26-2013, 03:12 PM Update.
We started a remodel beginning of Sept. The remodel is done, but ran into some red tape with changing the license over. We have jumped most of the hurdles and should be reopening within 2 weeks.

Welcome to the forum!
Are you moving into the space directly south and allowing for WSKY to expand into your old space?
JarrodH 11-15-2013, 10:05 AM They are indeed moving to the smaller space to the south of their former location. We will be putting in a new concept in the existing space and plan to begin construction once the city approves the plans.
GoThunder 12-28-2013, 02:56 PM Just moved to deep deuce and was really hoping this would be open by now. Walked by the other day and it looked really closed. Anyone know anything? I would love a neighborhood liquor store.
betts 12-28-2013, 03:22 PM Although its not in Deep Deuce, I buy everything at Broadway Wine and Spirits, which is still close.

They are moving to the space directly south of their current location and WKSY Lounge will be expanding into their old space.
Aw, bummer.
I know that was their original plan.
Chadanth 12-28-2013, 06:50 PM (Jerry Seinfeld voice) "Whats the deal with this place?"
no1cub17 12-28-2013, 08:46 PM Actually no. Deep Deuce Wine won't be opening back up it looks like. At least not it that building.
That stinks - loved how close they were, even if their selection wasn't quite there. Broadway will do some great business with the number of people that will be moving here.
Urbanized 12-29-2013, 10:16 AM Seriously - nothing against DD Wine - Broadway is just an excellent, excellent liquor store which leaves very little to be desired.
soonerguru 12-29-2013, 03:03 PM I still think a liquor store could work in the area. That was a fairly large footprint and it never "seemed" open. Weird, I know, and even shallow, but optics in retail do matter.
Urbanized 12-29-2013, 03:18 PM 100%. Signage, widows, sidewalk presence are HUGE when it comes to being successful, ESPECIALLY in an urban area.
Steve 12-29-2013, 08:59 PM I really wish Level had been set up so that a liquor store could have been opened next to Native Roots.

Isn't there supposed to be some retail in mosaic and maywood II? Could work there, but those aren't really going to be optimal areas.

That certainly seems to work well for 7 - 11 stores. :)

Would it be organic, fair-trade, locally sourced? J/k

If you're talking about the liquor, probably not. LOL
(Please note that my post was tongue in check and not meant as any kind of comment about Native Roots.)

Of course, and I live in level and love Native Roots. That would have been a decent corner to have a small liquor store next to NR, come to think of it.

I agree, especially with 130 hotel rooms about to open up right across the street.
