Professor Rufus Fears has died. This man was a gift to education. He was not only one of the most popular professors at OU, but is also known all over the world as one of the most popular lecturers in The Teaching Company and Great Courses series. He was 67.

An OU Crown Jewel and legend.
If you attended OU and missed taking one of his classes you missed lifelong memories and lessons.
For my sake, I wish he would have talked a little slower.
He will be extremely missed by humanity.

Hopefully, if this teacher's
inspiration, exhortation and encouragement
as an educator was true and effective
He will be extremely accepted
rather than missed by society
on account of his kindness.

There is an honest tear
in my eye in respect
of all the great teachers I have known
and this professor represents.

Humanity only misses the lessons
of great teachers
if Individuals don't really listen.

He was a great storyteller. To this day I still know so much useless minutia about Roman society. Glad I had a chance to attend his classes.
