I don't see a thread here for it. It's led by Bob Funk and seems pretty nice in the fastest growing area in the state. Anyone know or have any info on this project/community? I'm from Piedmontnand live in Philly area now. Going back for the first time to okc/piedmont in nearly a year in the coming weeks. Getting excited to see the changes.

Very slow in moving. Ideal Homes is actually going to try to do a lot of the housing portion...

Yes, but the taxes go to piedmont school district and Yukon school district. Semantics, really.

Ahh, that's the fun of it. You are literally correct, the Property Taxes go to Canadian County and the school districts, but all of the services required are provided by OKC, which is funded by sales tax. Unless everyone at Verde drives down NW Expressway to shop, OKC won't gain enough tax revenue to support the needs of the community. I imagine that many people will do their shopping in Yukon.

I understand that they are population of okc. It's the Piedmont school district that has grown by 1000 students in the past 3-4 years that interests me. This will make that kind if growth seem small when this project is finished. I don't know how the school district us going to keep up with it, really.

Just the facts

In addition to having to build all the new schools, how many schools that were already built, bought, and paid for do you think OKCPSD has abandoned over the years?

In Piedmont? None have been abandoned. They have a new high school that they keep having to add on to, and have built 3 new elementary schools in the last decade because of the school districts population boom. This is being built in piedmont school district. Has nothing to do with what your you're talking about,JTF.

Piedmont is basically the new Mustang of the metro area. 5A school next year and will more than likely be a 6A school within the 3-4 years.

He didn't mean that Piedmont was abandoning, he meant that all this sprawl has led to abandonment of schools in OKC.

I see. Regardless, Piedmont is blowing up right now. All these new corporations moving in and the population boom in okc having an effect on the schools for sure.
