There once was a sort of train park south of (maybe) Shartel and NW 63rd. There were some train cars and some small buildings. I'm really vague on the location but if someone is familiar with it, you'll know it, even if the location is wrong. We've been gone several years and I don't recall the last time we saw it. Wondering if it's still there and if someone knows the history of the place.

If what you are thinking of was in the 63rd & Shartel area it might have been the maintenance or turn around area for the trolley that was where Classen is today.

Unless I'm losing it completely I recall seeing some miniature railroad track and cars (maybe 16 inch gauge or so) near where the famous grafitti bridge once stood. This has been years ago and my memory is foggy at best. That's not too far from 63rd and Shartel.

So, what you are remembering was a home around 58th and Classen. The owner had a good parcel of land there (Aubrey was in high school at the time, and had no use for it yet :-) :D and on this parcel of land he had a small gauge track and a few rail cars. There were some various small outbuildings as well. The area was raised a bit above the surrounding area by geography, and was at the end of Classen. There were just a few homes in the area at the time. To the west was the street that led to Western, and a creek that has largely been removed/upgraded by CHK. This was a loooong time before the upgrade to the Berry House. The Western bridge was right there.
I don't recall ever actually seeing a train run on the track... it was pretty short. I may possibly have a photo somewhere, but it would be really old (like 1975).
That area is now totally AubreyLand now. Except of course, he now takes orders from Icahn.... just one crazy old lady left, and I think her chance to sell is gone...
