I also heard that the new OnCues will be featuring dog parks..

The one in Yukon has a dog park. Pretty big too.

The Waterloo rd on is suppost to be the largest one yet. I agree that once this is built and until the rebuild on the I-35 and Waterloo is complete, Katie bar the door at rush hour. I've gone through there in the middle of the afternoon and traffic was backed up. Add a few housing additions going just east and south, what a mess it will be.

Oh, I see now.

They own just over 5 acres on that corned but used a different LLC name.

Good to know!

I've really grown to love their operations and patronize them all the time. Wish they would find space for a smaller version near the core.

Same here... In OKC I buy my gas there exclusively...... We've even had a few of the members of my pool league team disappear briefly and return to find out they had ran down the street to the OnCue to use the restroom because they didn't want to use the one in the bar... LOL

Pete
07-22-2016, 03:10 PM
Haha... Their restrooms are about as good as they get, especially those locations that have an outside door nearby, so you don't even have to go into the main part of the store.

I also love their 24-hour propane service.

After years of listening to the QT vs 7-11 banter on this site. After my last couple of trips to Tulsa I have yet to find a QT bathroom as clean as OnCue's are.... I think the only place with nicer bathrooms is Buc ee's and I don't expect to see one of them here anytime soon.

Pete

Haha, not grilling at 3AM but love to run errands very early in the morn.

I think OnCue is a more than acceptable substitute for QT. I hope they build dozens of more locations.

And every time I am in or pass by one, it seems to be heaving.

They really need a location somewhere on Classen.

Lots of empty and under-developed properties and there is one crappy 7-11 and really nothing else on that entire stretch.

I cannot agree more! Classen is swamped with traffic during both rush hours and I would think they'd make a killing off of commuters either direction. Classen @ NW 30th would be a nice fit.

Heard a rumor that they're building an OnCue in Newcastle, at the corner of US-62 and NW 24th Street (the first stoplight on US-62 as you exit I-44). Is this true, or is something else going in there? They're building *something*...

It wouldn't surprise me to see one go in on the SW/C of NW 30th and Classen. I remember when the building that used to be there caught fire and the owner proposed a retail development, but I don't think they could get financing.

Yes, the building did burn down there years ago.....it was many restaurants (could be in another thread)...and then the iconic Free Spirit night club....still have my ID card.
Danced many an evening away listening to Abba and Donna Summer....and then hit the Village Inn down the street after the club closed.

I can't believe it took this long for someone to come in and dominate the OKC market with a higher end gas service station. As crappy as 7-11 was for so long it's so refreshing to have good competition in the area.

OnCue Express, OG&E Partner To Launch EV Charging Station (http://www.cstoredecisions.com/2016/11/02/oncue-express-oge-partner-launch-ev-charging-station/)

Electric vehicle drivers now have a new location where they can quickly and conveniently charge their electric vehicle (EV), thanks to OG&E and OnCue.

The two companies have partnered on a pilot installation of a level 3, DC fast charging station at the Yukon, Okla. OnCue, located at 1000 North Czech Hall Rd.
----
The charging station is located on the south side of the store across from the dog park. During the pilot period, charging will be complimentary to customers. Basic data including time of day, length of use and how much energy is consumed, will be collected during the pilot and will assist in evaluating and improving future EV infrastructure development.

OnCue needs to go take a look at *their* next best competition - a currently Texas-only chain called Buc-ees. We were in the DFW area and right at Exit 70 off I-35W is one of their newer locations, and the place is amazing - it's like an OnCue cross-bred with a Hobby Lobby, a State Fair, mixed in with steroids.

This place had, I think, close to *50* gas pumps, to say nothing of a *packed* parking lot in front of a store that's more along the size of a WalMart Grocery Store than an OnCue. I'd conservatively say you could fit *four* OnCue's into this place. There's a section with nothing but camping/fishing gear, another snack section where it looks like they just called EVERY vendor on earth and said "send one-each of every snack food you make." FOUR Icee-drink machines cranking, hot samples of sausage in the middle, along with fresh stuff of all varieties being cooked up in the back - along with bags of roasted nuts and site-made fudge. And we didn't even go into their *home decor* area where they had tons of knickknacks.

Yeah, I know, to be that stunned by a convenience store is a little over the top, but man, this place just reset the bar on what a convenience store really is. This place makes 7-11 look like a vending machine in a bad part of town. It really is to OnCue *exactly* what OnCue is to 7-11 in terms of competitor.

Buc-ee's is absolute overkill and it's a f*cking nightmare to visit, but their fudge is incredible.

Buc-ee's sounds very, very awesome - but it also sounds like the very antithesis of a "convenience store". And the idea of that many fuel pumps just makes me think of the Buy-N-Large gas station from WALL-E. I wouldn't mind if Buc-ee's had a store here, but I also wouldn't want OnCue to turn into something like that, either.

They are getting a jump on the expansion on the east side of Edmond/southern Logan county. Remember that the whole I-35/Waterloo rd exchange is going to be expanded. Also consider all the current and proposed housing additions that have been approved to go in. They just plan on cleaning up on all the business. All those workers building houses will need some place close to get gas, a snack, then all the new home owners will need to stop for gas, and a cup of coffee and a snack on the way to work. Makes business sense to me. Also the plan is for the Covell parkway to extend east of I-35 to Douglas, up Douglas to Waterloo and then Waterloo to I-35.
