Yeah, I'm pretty sure my bank account was compromised by a pump skimmer or something. I use Google Pay at every opportunity.

I'm just glad that OnCue is starting to implement the Phillips 66 app at their locations..... I usually save $0.10 to $0.25 a gallon and can activate the pump from my vehicle with the app.

All of my local OnCue's have "tap to pay" disabled for Apple Pay/Google Pay, etc, they are still requiring you manually insert the credit card.

Speaking of strange, noticed that there are bike racks at the Hefner/May location but not at the 39/Portland or NW Exp/Wilshire locations when those are both right on the trail.

Possibly not, which is exactly why I never touch a handle with my bare hands. I normally grab a paper towel from the window washing stand to do that.

It’s funny to go back to the beginning of this thread nine years ago and read the comments. I lived in Tulsa until 2007 and then moved to OKC for work. I travel for my job around the state in sales, and it was slightly depressing to not have QTs any longer. 7-11 and Circle AJ’s took advantage of their monopoly here, and the OnCue rise is a great example of how capitalism and competition can fill a void to make things better … better bathrooms, snacks, drinks, food, etc. 7-11’s never upgraded their stores until OnCue’s started taking business and even Casey’s General Stores came into the area to fill the need that still exists.

They need quality convenience stores!
I don't think theres a need to have a good convenience store or 2 on every mile section in the metro area.

Seems to me that OnCue and the larger stores of it's ilk are busy from 7AM to 7PM. It is common for all 24 pumps to be in use from 3 to 6PM and the check out lines to be 4 deep. Tells me there is room for more in OKC.

Just checked with contact at OnCue corporate about the planned store at N. May and United Founders Blvd. They expect to submit permit request to the city before the end of this week, then will wait through the approval process which they indicated is about 6-9 months depending on change requests and that they hope to be operational at that location by the end of 2022. Their march goes on across the metro!

Every week when I am accosted by a panhandler at the 10th and Penn Valero or walk past the loitering-deterrent opera music blaring at 711 I go home and dream of On-Cue haha.

I've seen security guards at the OnCue stores at 23rd and Santa Fe, SW 59th and Western, and Reno and MacArthur before, so it doesn't seem to be all that uncommon

I got a burger and fries at the 39th/Portland OnCue today, and it was pretty darn good, and the price was more than reasonable. The employees were fantastic.

I don't keep change on me usually, so I will go out of my way to stop at an Oncue to check my tires because of the free air. And most of the newer Oncues have the gauges built in to where it will stop once you reach your desired air pressure. I love that. Just another thing that brings extra business in.

I agree! I travel to Arkansas and I don’t think they have any places left for free air.

I cant imagine the mark up on gas is that high so would think that anything to help bring in c-store business would be advantageous to the profit line.

They are on a bike trail. Directly. Hundreds of cyclists are going by them daily that might want to get another sports drink or salty snack (not to mention the fact than many cyclists are also car drivers and tend to be brand loyal). But they are likely hesitant to do so if there's nowhere to lock up their costly bike. It's simply poor business sense, for what it would cost, to not also cater to that crowd. We know they're capable. They have bike racks at the May/Hefner location. Across the board, cycling infrastructure and facilities are cheaper than car infrastructure and facilities. They also have customers that arrive on foot. Should they not have sidewalks? You want free parking for your car downtown (at the cost of thousands), I want free parking for my bike at businesses (at the cost of hundreds). Seems like a fair request. And I'm quite certain I've spent more than the cost of a bike rack in business at OnCue stores over the years. Much of that on gas. For my car.

I didn’t realize pizza and burgers fresh from the grill was their way of catering to automobiles.

They’re a for-profit company. I’m sure they’ve done the analysis of the number of walkers and cyclists that would flock to their store and buy something. My guess is they would only stop by to use the bathroom when they get “runner’s trots”, just causing them more work to do on cleanup and replacing toilet paper rolls.

The markup on gas? In Oklahoma 20% of the price of gas is tax and it’s one of the best in the country. (California leads the way with 61%). Considering all the costs of getting something to the pump, the price of gas is one of the best values in the past 50 years.

It will do very well there. Past Choctaw Road, there is nothing until the Grand casino. So this will flourish, especially they somehow made it a truck stop.

Appears they are starting dirt work at SW 104th and Portland. They have been out there marking utilities and putting up run off barriers. A few dirt movers have been placed on site

Agreed. The west side locations I’ve visited lately have all done away with it and it’s quite annoying.

Did I read somewhere that OnCue was rumored to be going in at some point at Covell and Broadway, or Covell and Kelly in Edmond? I seem to remember reading that in a comment somewhere but I cannot find it anywhere. Perhaps I really didn't read that as to why I can't find it. . . :)

7-11 bought the Phillips 66/Covell Corner at Covell and Air Depot in Edmond. Outside signage has already been changed over.

Hope this means that OnCue will move forward with their store in North Central Edmond on the opposite corner of Covell/Broadway or just a mile down at Kelly/Covell.

FWIW I was at the Buc-ee's at the corner of I-35W & Hwy 114, right by the big racetrack, Friday afternoon.

It was HUUUUGEEEEEEEE. I didn't count them, but there had to have been close to 100 gas pumps, and they have tons of parking and space to maneuver around as well. I don't think they had any 18-wheelers there but there is just tons and tons of room for buses and big RV's and such to get easily around there.

I didn't take time to go in and lookey-loo because it seemed to have lots and lots of people inside. Maybe next time.


In comparison, I had to go to 2 different 7-11's earlier this evening to get a bag of ice. The 2nd one had a few bags, the machine was filthy, and one of the soda dispeners (Diet Dr Pepper) didn't work right, and they were completely out of 44 ounce cups.

I normally go to On-Cues but these were much closer and more convenient this evening.

I hope we get a Buc-ee’s. That would be cool to have. I still haven’t been though haha.

Depending on what the State does with Highway 9 W. and I-35, Buc-ee's is a strong possibility.

Right, the NE corner though is a little bit different story, They have always held on to land within the traditional airport perimeter where the NW corner is. That’s why I was wondering if there was a mistake in NW vs NE.

My bad, it’s the NE corner. I was initially going to say NW of I-44 and SW 104th but never made the correction when I changed it to Portland, so essentially it’s between Portland and the exit ramp of I-44
