Beastie Boys MC Adam Yauch, aka MCA, has passed away due to cancer, TMZ reports. He was 47 years old.

47 is way too young. :(

yeah, me too. i think it was '86 with run-dmc, whodini, and ll cool j? i didn't think much of them at the time - licensed to ill hadn't come out yet - but saw them a few more times over the years and bought all their cd's. an integral part of an innovative and legendary group.

It was 86 or 87. RunDMC was there too...I remember because one of them (DMC?) fell off the front of the stage.
