Hello. Does anyone know what building was located at this address in 1936. I heard it may have been a boarding house. It's currently an intersection. I've been trying to locate my bio grandparents and they lived there for a time in 1936.

I would look up the address in old city directories in the downtown library. In the 1951 directory 608 NE 8th shows Maud Sommers Beauty Shop and in the rear a J C Melton.

The Oklahoma History Center library also has copies of the city directories.

Oklahoman want-ads between 1936 and 1939 show that a furnished duplex at 608 E. 8th was often shown for rent. Not much description is given other than "ground floor" or similar words were used, which imply a 2-story structure. The duplex on the ground floor is shown as 3-rooms.
