Sid posted this cheery pic the other day on another thread:

Which got me to wondering.... I remember some months back when the place was being renovated, there was a lot of concern about the rather grungy appearance of the site.

Has this been all cleaned up? I mean, it all looks rather nice in that photo.

The issues were with the back of the building, a tacked-on addition and the rooftop, which can be easily seen when walking across the bridge from Deep Deuce.

And no, they haven't been addressed as of yet.

Went here last night. Fantastic place. Talking to the bartender, I was really surprised by how small their staff is (2 people + 1 extra help)

3 people, but yeah, it's a small crew. What time were you there last night? I was there too pretty late.

2+1 = 3, Sid ;-)

I was there from like 10 to 12, sitting out on the patio cause holy moly it was a beautiful night.

What in the world is that contraption they have in the corner of the patio area?

I just noticed in the rendering at the top of this article that there's another Skinny Slim's sign on the east of of this establishment. Are the owners still planning for this to be added?

Ah, we were there at the same time. I was inside on the laptop.

Yeah, they have 3 + 1 Sunday helper. That's what I meant. :) Tara, Danielle, and Airon(Owner) are the regular workers. Brian, who works Sunday, actually pulled his last shift this last Sunday.

If you are in again and see a skinny guy with a grey cap, say hi. Cheers.

Well damn, I wish I had known!

Oh, ok.

Judging by Will's photos, it doesn't look bad to me. Although the bridge view of the AC unit is not aesthetic splendor.

Seems like that would be easy enough to camouflage that rooftop though. Just tack on a series of two-by-fours (like rafters) and then put some water proof meshing across that.

Deep Deuce to Bricktown: Dangerous crossing? | News OK (http://newsok.com/deep-deuce-to-bricktown-dangerous-crossing/article/3853548)

Since opening earlier this year, Skinny Slims, 201 E Main, has turned into a favorite hangout for downtown workers and residents. The pub has no dedicated parking, but that's all right — many of the customers are walking from nearby Deep Deuce and offices in the Central Business District.
Downtown is changing, and the pedestrian environment is taking root. With that change, a great dialogue, and education, must follow — even if it takes place over drinks at Skinny Slims.

The chalk is movement growing. We dropped of a few pieces of sidewalk chalk there a few weeks back. People keep using them. I've noticed new chalk too so people are obviously getting in to it. We've ordered a bunch more chalk and will actually be putting a basket, strapped to the bridge so people can come and grab chalk and draw.

It has been really neat to see what people draw.

Sid, this is not a good idea. Drunk Jedicurt fancy's himself an artist, but sober Jedicurt thinks he is terrible.

Had my first visit tonight. I liked it. Nice neighborhood bar feel. Which is something that I've wished for OKC for a while. Patrons seemed to be friendly. I loved Cheers growing up and always wanted to walk into someplace that had the feel of a neighborhood bar and this appears to fit the bill.

Ha! You should have!

The guy (and his girlfriend) I was talking to at the bar was one of the owners of The Mule. Just struck up a conversation and made the connection.

Not sure if it has been mentioned, but they are opening a location in Edmond.

Also looks like some limited food options are coming with the new year.

Any idea where in Edmond? I remember talking to a woman who worked at SS that they were planning on building on a small structure to the north to house a kitchen for some basic pub food. Not sure if that is still happening or not.

Next door to Hideaway on 5th street.

Don't think the kitchen is happening at downtown location, the food looks to be of the finger served-cold variety.

I think the new Edmond location is already open, in the old Home Run Sliders space, immediately east of Hideaway at 128 E. 5th:
