This is in no way a championship but it's sure nice to see after a lackluster season so far after the allstar game.

I am more worried about the Portland game than the Laker game this week, It is extremely hard to get a W in Portland even if they are 3-7 in their last 10. Thunder and Blazers are huge rivals in my opinion

What do we have that Golden State doesn't? A solid chance at home court advantage if we keep winning. Golden State lost by 3 at Portland yesterday? We've got plenty of reasons and experience to beat Portland. I'd be more worried about the game next Wednesday (two Wednesdays) at Miami...

But I do agree with you. Portland is not nearly the team they were two seasons ago, but anything can happen and it's a tough place to play!

Honestly, I agree. I'm expecting a win but a loss would not be shocking to me.

And just when you think you have the pecking order in the NBA figured out.

Indiana 105 Miami 90

Denver 108 Chicago 91 (in Chicago)

You just can't take any game for granted.

The Chicago game is slightly understandable since Rose is still out; but even with him injured it's not like Chicago is a bad team or something, they're still a really good team and the low that Denver has been riding lately does make it surprising for them to go in to Chicago and win in blowout fashion like that.

As for Miami, not even Jesus could save them. LeBron has hit a slump that almost makes you pity him and nothing seems to work for anyone living in South Beach. I'm not saying they're a terrible team now but they've definately hit a bump in the road and lost a tire or two.

You're right MDot. There is not a team that is a sure thing this year. Every team has issues and OKC, warts and all, should have as good as chance as anyone if they can hit their stride at the right team.

A little over a week ago they traded away two starters (for cap space & a good pick in the draft) and fired their head coach. Plus the Thunder have won the last three at Portland.

2-1 in their last 3 meetings in Portland, we lost to them on April 1 last year.

What he's saying is their not loaded like they were. They traded away Gerald Wallace and Marcus Camby and fired Nate McMillan all at the trade deadline so now they're in rebuilding stage. We've played them since they cleaned house and we won 111-95, but the time we played them before that we had to get a bad goaltending call to even go into overtime to eventually win the game.

They aren't as scary as you're making it seem but they could definately win.

That's been the story of our season with losses to Cleveland and Washington.

Even the really terrible teams have some of the best players in the world and can win on any given night.

Yep. The NBA is the highest level basketball league in the world filled with the greatest basketball players on earth, no game is a given.

If we can play like we did in the Miami game (i.e., great ball movement, offensive contributions from big men, aggressive defense) then we'll beat anyone. Unfortunately, we rarely do the things we did against Miami. We definitely looked like a champhionship caliber team.

To make matters worse for Portland I also just read that Raymond Felton is out and Nolan Smith I believe his name is will start in place of Felton.

It's only halftime against Portland as I make this post but, so far, they are playing that way tonight. Maybe they should save a little for the Lakers on Thursday. LOL

Lol considering the halftime score right now, all my worries are gone, It looks like we are playing like we did against the Heat.

These third quarters are hard on a fan!!!!

That's why, when watching on TV, I often tend to change the channel during the 3rd quarter and check back in about the middle of the 4th. LOL
