Thought some of you might be interested in some numbers regarding the site...

We are now averaging about 45,000 unique visitors every month, or about 1,500 per day. These numbers are up almost 50% from just a year ago. (Keep in mind the majority that visit here are not registered members).

We are nearing 10,000,000 hits each month.

Our busiest day is generally Thursday, and weekdays are about 25% busier than the weekends.

Our busiest hour is 4PM; our slowest is 4AM.

We now average over 10,000 posts per month.

Thanks for providing this service Pete....I think those numbers show how advertising could help this site generate some revenue and take some of the cost burden away from you. Happy to see that you have added advertising.

You know one thing that really helps to drive traffic to the site is Twitter.

A few months ago I started tweeting some of the more interesting updates to the site and as soon as I put one out there, we get a nice spike in visitors.

I was late to the Twitter party but it really is a great tool for spreading information quickly and reaching a bunch of people you never would otherwise. I've learned it's not just about your followers, it's the compounding effect of getting something out there that others re-tweet or merely pass on.

And if you haven't already, start a Facebook page and link it with the twitter... it's still just one update, but there are a lot of people on Facebook that aren't on twitter. Just an idea...

Yeah, we have a very little used Facebook group but I should definitely connect the two to the site.

45,000 unique visitors monthly, 50% increase over last year
10 mil hits monthly
10,000 posts per month

Maybe it's just me, but I don't think you're having any major issues with driving traffic.

Those are decent numbers but they aren't great by any means.

My goal is for the site to be self-funded with some left over for enhancements. We are certainly getting closer.
