I worked as a professional modelmaker for 3 years. We worked on everything from architectural models to industrial design models of every scale for every company imaginable. What's amazing about the Miniature Wonderland is that they managed to get the funding for something like this. This is a multi-million dollar model. The most expensive thing I worked on was $500,000. This has gotta be way over $10 million, maybe even $20 million.

According to the vid, the airport alone was 3.5 million euros. I suspect a good portion of the handwork was done in China. In particular, the painting of the people. I could be wrong, but paying someone a decent wage to hand paint all those figures in Germany would be unbelievable.
