A co-worker and I were talking and a question came up... Does ESPN on MNF show the national anthem or is that replaced by their into to MNF?

Unless it's the super bowl or some other special game like xmas or thanksgiving, it is pretty rare any network shows the national anthem. Pretty much the same for all sports

I was thinking the same... thanks. It's kind of a shame though and I wish they would do it more often.

Basically they try to cram the entire game into a three hour window with as many commercials as possible, that doesn't leave much time for "extras" like the national anthem. As worthy cook stated, the games at special times are the ones that it is typically shown because they have an expanded broadcast window. I know that a lot of the Red Sox games on NESN they will show the anthem and God Bless America for the seventh inning stretch but the Red Sox also own that network. The Yankees YES network also has shown both most of the times that I have watched it.
