Sorry if this has been mentioned anywhere else, but does anyone know of anything new going in front of the Crest shopping center, it looked like some land has been cleared...

Where exactly? Between the places along 23rd street?

I haven't been able to find a building permit.

I believe it was between Meridian and Ann Arbor

Is it the old Blockbuster (maybe Hollywood Video?) that is torn down?

I drove by on the way home. A man working out on the lot told me that Popeye's is being built at that location.

It seems like an ideal location for Popeye's honestly.

I think they got a chicken bone caught in the throat.

That's why I only eat chicken strips. :-)

A Family Dollar application was on the 10/13 Planning Commission agenda, but I don't know if it was approved. The location is vacant land on the south side of 23rd Street, about a 1/4 mile east of Ann Arbor.

I am surprised Popeye's is expanding. The only locations I know of that are still open is Edmond and 122nd and Penn. The rest eventually closed. They were good at one time. I think they changed the recipe. It's not all that great these days. I don't even like KFC anymore. The last couple of times we went, the chicken just didn't taste that good. We tried grilled, crispy and original. All them taste lousy. We grabbed a $5 chicken from Walmart the other night and it was better then KFC's chicken.

I use to love KFC, then they changed their recipe. Why screw with something that isn't screwed?
