Has anyone tried this?

I've never had Ethiopian food, but I'm always willing to try something new out and saw this place today. I was curious if anyone had opinions about the food.

It's in the shopping center on the northwest corner of Broadway and 33rd. They have a website as well

I'm not sure if they're open yet. However, I don't care for Ethiopian food (I had it several years ago), so I won't be going there.

Not in the conventional sense of the word.
(Really: Google "Ethiopian Cuisine" and see what comes up.)

Eritrean and Ethiopian cuisine done well can be amazing. As many Somalis and Ethiopians work their way out of the Kansas slaughterhouses and become more prosperous, you can expect to see more restaurants like Blue Nile. I'm going as soon as I can to check them out.

There are a lot of Ethiopian restaurants here in the Los Angeles area and the good ones are very popular.

Food style is similar to Mediterranean / Middle Eastern but with it's own slant.

Like most ethnic cuisines, they don't get too exotic when it comes to American customers. I hope this place is a success.

We are very excited about this and can't wait to try, having had great experiences at Queen of Sheba at 23rd and MacArthurt.

Stewed meats, lentils and other vegetables are a common part of their cuisine, which is quite tasty. Traditionally, you eat it with a spongy bread (like a spongy tortilla), and scoop your food off of a communal tray using your hands. Queen of Sheba also has individual dishes for folks who aren't comfortable with sharing off of the same platter, so I would guess Blue Nile will offer the same.

QoS was pretty tasty. Hopefully this new one does well.
